“You're fat, you're worthless, you're stupid. You'll never be picked for anything and you'll never make it to college.”
No one wants to hear these words at any point in time. But regrettably it happens and we have two choices. We can roll with the punches or let it affect our lives.
According to Make Beats Not Beat Downs, 1 in 7 children are victims of bullying. If you came from a school with a large graduating class, that's a huge number of bullies and people who receive the bullying.
Those who haven't been bullied don't really see how many people are affected because they are too busy going through their day, or they leave it alone because it didn't pertain to them.
Well guess what
I was the 1 out of 7 kids.
At my high school, you could look at a girl the wrong way without knowing and automatically become her victim.
That's exactly what happened to me, I guess I looked at her the wrong way after only getting six hours of sleep the night before on account of studying.
She took my sleepyhead stink eye the wrong way. Her mission was to make my life miserable.
While I was in school and she was absent because of certain circumstances, she created a team that would taunt and bash me on Facebook. at 16 years old, I'd have to say I took it to heart.
I'm not a size 2, but I wore a shirt that was fine for me but too tight for them apparently.
Lucky for me graduation was in the next couple of weeks, and the Facebook block button became my new best friend.
I didn't take the taunts as seriously as others would. I wasn't in the public school atmosphere much, so my tolerance and sustainability was stronger.
Why would I let someone tear me down who I'm not going to see after high school.
So this is for you bullies. Whether you were a bully in high school, college, or you're a bully now as an adult.
How could you think that calling someone stupid and ugly and that they are a waste of space in the world wouldn't affect them at all?
Girl as especially more sensitive as men, so anything you would say to us affects us ten times as much.
Next time you see someone acting weird or do something you think is embarrassing, just leave them alone. They are acting that way because they want to. You don't know what's going on in their lives.
To my fellow kids who made it past high school and college. I am so proud of you. Thank you for breaking the mold of being victims of bullying.Thank you for standing up for yourself and making a difference while leaving them in the dark.
You will succeed, you are stronger, you powerful, and you are not who others have said you are.
