What could be better than a live stream devoted entirely to puppies? Nothing. Not a damn thing. Thankfully, "Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota" (RAGOM) has one set up for us to enjoy. The streaming schedule is:
6am-9am (except Tuesdays)
1130am-1pm (except Tuesdays)

A bit of background on RAGOM: They're a nonprofit rescue organization based in Minnesota that primarily deals with golden retrievers and related breeds. They have a long list of available dogs up for adoption, and they oftentimes bring in dogs from outside of Minnesota as well. They recently helped rescue and find homes for a bunch of dogs in Turkey.
The momma dog in the stream is Patzy, a golden they rescued from a breeder's auction back in May. They found her a foster home and she gave birth to her litter a week after being brought to her foster home.
For anyone looking to adopt a dog, or even considering doing so, RAGOM is a wonderful organization to work with. I can speak from experience, as I adopted my dog Juno from them a couple of years back.
Their process is thorough and rigorous. They make sure to home their dogs to the right family, putting the dog's well being above all else. Most of their dogs have a long list of applicants looking to adopt, so finding your new friend takes a bit of proactivity.
Adopting a pet is also a great way to add a new member to the family. Older dogs typically have some sort of training (but not always, so be sure to read the dog's profile!) and the initial vet costs of vaccinations and microchipping are typically included in the adoption price.
Juno cost $300 to adopt, but she was already chipped and fully vaccinated. She even knew a few tricks! It's worth mentioning though that subsequent vet visits and updates on vaccinations aren't provided by RAGOM, but it's something a dog owner would have to do regardless.
They're also always looking for new foster parents for their dogs. As they bring in more rescues, they need good homes to help take care of them. Sometimes dogs have special needs or medical services, which RAGOM assists foster parents with providing.
Stories like Patzy's are all too common, and they rarely end happily as hers did. Thankfully, organizations like RAGOM and The Humane Society are around to help find good homes for all of those pets that need one. There are numerous other organizations that operate all over the country. Aussie Rescue Of Minnesota, Secondhand Hounds, Happy Tails Rescue, and others all come to mind.
