If you are like me, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about human trafficking is maybe a third world country, sketchy part of a city, or a movie. However, human trafficking happens everywhere. There are things going on behind the scenes and in areas that we may not even suspect.
According to DoSomething.org, “Globally, the average cost of a slave is $90.” That is what a human life has been reduced to for many evil, sick people in the world. $90. There should never be a price tag on a human being. Jesus dying on the cross for us took our price tag off, and paid the price we couldn’t, making us priceless. Unfortunately, Satan has gotten a hold of many, many, people and twisted their mind into thinking that humans do have a price. These horrific people take the innocence and beauty from children, teens, and even adults, and throw it away.
When they are done with their “prizes” they throw them out like trash. These poor people who have been enslaved in this life of darkness and indescribable pain are thrown away like they are nothing. Those that are able to escape, many times end up back in the cycle of suffering because they don’t know where to go. In their life, they have been someone else’s object and toy to use and abuse however they see fit.
It may not seem like this is something that happens in your area, but there’s a pretty good chance it does. You may never hear about it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Whether you come across someone who has experienced this or not, you can still help. Stop the cycle. It does not have to continue. There are so many wonderful organizations that fight to save these girls and give them a life outside of the one they have known. Humans for Justice helps provide victims of human trafficking go to college, and pursue their dream. Freedom 4/24 provides recourses for organizations, and does many wonderful things to help the poor girls enslaved.
Freedom 4/24 was started by a college student. If she can start an organization to help victims of human trafficking, you can donate, or go to a “Run 4 Their Lives” event. Even better than those two things is prayer. The power of prayer is un-parallel to anything we can do. Our prayers our powerful weapons against the clutches of Satan. It is up to us to help end human trafficking. It is up to us to stop the cycle of slavery and evil, and save these girls.
