Most of us aren't happy because of this week's presidential election. I can honestly say that neither candidates were ideal, however it is important to remember what is at stake. At this point, we need to come together, turn to God, and hope for the best.
The protests that are going on are completely uncalled for. I'm no Trump supporter, and neither are most people I know, but they aren't out burning flags, beating other supporters, and just causing mass chaos on the streets. It's okay to be sad. It's okay to cry. But it's crucial to get over it and move on.
All I've seen on my Facebook and Twitter feeds are that people want Trump to be a horrible president. Why? Why do we want our country to suffer? You can call Trump a racist, a sexist, and whatever else, but you do not have to practice his beliefs. He will not make it that you have to be a racist, misogynistic asshole for the rest of your life. It doesn't work that way, and I hope you're smart enough to know that.
It is a scary world we're living in right now, and mainly because of the hatred going between the democratic and republican parties. No one has the right to rip a Hijab off of a woman's head and insult her, yet no one has the right to burn the American flag and riot through the streets. And if you think these things are okay, then maybe you're the problem.
As for Donald Trump, I hope that you are a great president. I did not vote for you, but I hope that you take the lives of innocent people-no matter race or religion- and treat them with the respect they deserve, and I hope they do the same for you. And after this week, I really hope you can make America great again.
As for those who think it's okay to hurt and belittle those with opposing opinions, I want you to take a good hard look at yourself. Is this really who a good American citizen is? No, it isn't. The way to make America great again, is to start by bettering it's people. Don't continue to hate each other, or Trump, or Clinton, or whoever. Just be happy that the election is over, and if worst comes to worst, we still have Obama for a few more weeks.
It is also important to remember who the real ruler is, and turn to him. Keep America and it's people in your prayers. Let's at least try to band together and save our country. Keep God in your heart, be compassionate, and be understanding. Let Trump do his job. Let your fellow Americans do theirs. And most importantly, keep in mind who is really in charge of things. This is all part of the plan, and we will get through it together.
