It seems way too often that relationships aren't as happy as they should be. I have so many close friends that are still in relationships because they are just "comfortable" in them. There's always someone giving up something or pushing their feelings to the side to make up for something that is missing. Either that or you start to think about the other person's feelings over yours. People care for other people so blindly that they don't see the way that they are being treated. I have put myself in this situation way too many times. You become so completely infatuated with someone and your "happiness" with them that you forget about loving yourself. This doesn't even have to be in a romantic relationship standpoint. I've seen this with people in friendships, and even relationships with family members.
It's completely okay to have problems with someone. It's gonna happen, so you have to get over it. It's not completely okay to have someone make you feel like you're the problem. I know personally that when going through rough patches, someone always gets blamed for it. It is always going to seem like you're the one getting blamed, every time. Because if you think about it, the only times you remember are the times when you get blamed. So eventually it starts to weigh on you. Feeling worthless and so worn out about always being the problem, you begin to let it start to get to you. Everything builds up until you crack and end up looking like a crazy person. At this point -- ya know, the crazy-person point -- you don't think of yourself. You just think of how to fix the issue without losing the other person or hurting them. Hello, stop doing that! You are so much stronger than you think you are. You are so much better than feeling like you are the problem when you should be worrying about yourself. People never realize how much they should mean to themselves.
Stop letting someone ruin your self-image. Stop letting someone control the way that you feel about yourself. The only person that will always be there for you is you. Love yourself for everything that you are. Love the way that you wake up in the morning and your hair is pressed to the side of your face. Love the way you snort when you laugh too hard. Please love the way that your heart is so tender and innocent. And do not forget about loving the way that you feel when you get all dolled up for a night on the town! You, and only you, are in charge of your happiness. So keep it that way. Next time you're trying to change something that isn't worth it, remember yourself. Remember how much you love yourself. Because, damnit, you're worth it.
