The day is finally here, UNH Homecoming. Known to some as UNH's best holiday, a day better than Christmas and maybe even the best day of your life. The school's energy is at an all time high as students, parents and alumni roam the campus for the day. There's cars, RVs and tents throughout Boulder Field and A Lot for as far as the eye can see. The crisp fall day is filled with your best friends, football, beer and Gnarlz (the cute wildcat you see running around). Honestly what more could you ask for. The campus is a sea of blue and white and people who can't seem to wipe the smiles off their faces. There really is nothing quite like a UNH homecoming. The day is different for every person who attends our so-called holiday, but for the most part we all have the same agenda.

9:00 AM: You hear your alarm go off and for some reason you find it VERY easy to jump out of bed compared to when you wake up for your 9:40's.

9:30 AM: You start to get ready with your friends while listening to music and eating breakfast sandwiches. You're anticipating the events of the day and also questioning how you're going to be able to drink that early in the morning

10:00 AM: You begin to hear pops of champagne and OJ being poured in the distance and they may or may not be calling your name. Mimosas are always the solution.

10:30 AM: You hear the words "who are we even playing," muttered a couple hundred times (Hint: it's on the ticket).

11:00 AM: You go to your pregame and realize this day is going to be excruciatingly long, not to mention cold. The fullness of your heart basically takes away the cold pains you feel, that and your necessary hand warmers.

12:00 PM: The tailgate officially opens and you see all different types of people running around with the same intentions. There's cheers being screamed, songs being sung, tents sent up making all different kinds of food and you don't think you have ever loved your school so much.

12:30 PM: You notice people drinking heavier and heavier and how fast things actually are escalating. But, you are 100% okay with it because why not.

1:00 PM: OK, you're hungry. You're craving DHOP, but that is exceptionally far away. Suddenly a life saver comes in and fires up the grill. The smell of charcoal and burgers being cooked is the best thing you have EVER smelled.

1:30 PM: There is music, drinks, food, your best friends, maybe a puppy or two and you realize this may be the best day of your life so far and you never want it to end.

2:00 PM: You have maybe drunk called your best friends, your boyfriend, your ex boyfriend, your mom and your grandma, but it doesn't matter at this point of the day. You've been playing games, socializing and basically running around like nothing else in the world matters.

2:30 PM: The tailgate has not slowed down one bit and the game starts in a half an hour. You have probably lost someone multiple times, found them and lost them again. You probably ate 3 cheeseburgers and you're definitely regretting it. You also have probably said, "who are we playing?" "I don't want this to end," and "HAPPY HOMECOMING" 45 times.

3:00 PM: Do we have to go to the game now?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
