Dear Loved One,
I am so sorry. I’m sorry I haven’t done more to show you how much you’re cherished. I’m sorry I haven’t made you feel loved enough. I’m sorry I haven’t done a better job of showing you just how valuable you truly are.
But please don’t do it. Please don’t take your life.
You’re here for a reason. I promise. God created you for a special purpose. He loves you and wants the best for you. I understand that you have turned away from Him because of your life circumstances and that is okay. He will remain faithful to you.
Sweet one, you have so many people here that love you and want everything wonderful for you. You may not be rich in money, but you are rich in love. But we are still human; we make mistakes every day. Just because we don’t always do a great job of showing love doesn’t mean we love you any less.
I’m rooting for you. You are a good, good person and you are capable of doing so much good in the world. I wish I could be more like you. You are strong and brave. You stand up for what you believe in. You defend the people you care about most. We need more people with those qualities in the world.
Please don’t do it. Please don’t take your life.
I would do anything to go back and change things for you, change the way I treated you. I blame myself for part of it. But I can’t go back and change anything. We’re all stuck in the mess we’ve put ourselves in and this happens to be a mess that isn’t very easily cleaned up.
Be angry. Be hurt. But please don’t do it. Please don’t take your life.
You are amazing. You are worthy of more love than anyone can show, and certainly more love than I have shown. You are an inspiration to those around you. You are a fighter. You are significant and appreciated, whether that is always shown or not.
You are not the anxiety that overwhelms you.
You are not the depression that eats away at you.
You are not the way people treat you.
You are not the way people make you feel about yourself.
You are not your past, present, or future mistakes.
You are not the person taking those pills, holding that gun or standing on that ledge.
You can overcome this.
Please don’t do it. Please don’t take your life.
Forgive me. Forgive us. Forgive yourself. Take your life back and be all you, who you are at your core. Let’s have a fresh start.
Whatever you do, please remember that I love you. Always.
