Ahhh, winter break. No homework, no studying, just relaxation. Winter break is even more relaxed than summer. No stress to work all day or having to work 9 to 5 at your summer internship. Just long naps, cookies and home cooked food. The. Life.

Despite how wonderful sleeping in until noon feels everyday, we all know in the back of our heads how much harder it will be to wake up for our 8am's once spring semester rolls in. How can you enjoy doing almost nothing but still feel ready to take spring semester head on? Follow these tips to stay on top of your game.
Wake at a set time each day
By no means should you be waking up at 6am during break, but sleeping in until noon one day and then getting up at eight a.m. the next is not good for your internal time clock. Try getting up around the same time every day so your body does not struggle when that 8am class rolls around. Check out this fun sleepytime bedtime calculator to know exactly what time you should get up based on when you are going to bed.
Sweat Daily
You read it everywhere, "Sweat Daily." That is a lot easier said then done. By no means should you be running a half marathon every day, but you should get yourself moving. If the cold intimidates you, join a $30 for thirty days gym membership or tryout some Youtube videos at home. I recommend blogilates! Working out daily not only burns calories but it helps release toxins, keeps your body temperature regular, and makes you feel great!

This is the time of year to whip out a great book and fully immerse yourself. You don't need to feel guilty about cheating on your textbooks, because you have zero reading assignments for school. Not sure what to read? Check out these 51 literature quotes and see which one inspires you the most, and get to Barnes and Noble or your local public library as soon as possible.

Take advantage of the extra time and learn something new, whether it is learning a new recipe in the kitchen or watching a fun documentary on Netflix. Who knows! You might find yourself picking up another hobby.

Start applying for summer internships now. Most companies already have had their applications up since December 1st and are at the prime of their interview process. Make sure to reach out to their HR departments if you have any questions, and also make yourself seen. Give your resume a mini-makeover, create some cover letters and try to apply to an internship at least once or twice a week.

This is a bold one, but start reading the first few chapters of your textbooks for next semester. If you're taking a class you know you might struggle in, you might as well get a jump start in it so you won't be pulling an all-night come Feburary.
