With the recent release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on DVD, Star Wars fans everywhere have begun to revisit their theories regarding the gaps left by the writers in the new film. Old theories have also been brought to the surface in an attempt to fill the holes left by Disney when they abolished the extended universe canon. If you don't have the time to troll the internet for fan theories worthy of your valuable time, here's a list of six of the best and most believable theories out there.
1. Han Solo uses The Force

Han Solo is the favorite character of a large majority of Star Wars fans for many reasons, one of which is his uncanny ability to finagle his way out of sticky situations. Reddit user
sumojoe suggests that this ease of escape comes from an entirely subconscious use of the Force, making him Force sensitive. This theory explains how Han survived being frozen in carbonite, was able to pilot the Millennium Falcon through an asteroid field, and has extraordinary accuracy with a blaster. Seems like Han Solo might need to have his midi-chlorians checked.
2. Rey is a Kenobi

This theory is praised by many people and highly criticized by others. There has been speculation regarding Rey's lineage since the movie first came about. The most obvious choice for her
family history comes from the Skywalkers. This is why so many people believe Rey to be the daughter of Luke; however, there is sufficient evidence that suggests that Rey may actually be a Kenobi after all . Her knack for Jedi mind tricks is the first tip off. Obi-Wan was highly skilled in the use of Jedi mind tricks and used them frequently. He also had great access to visions and communications, much like Rey who has an intense force induced flashback when she picks up Luke's light saber. Finally, Maz tells Rey that her parents will not be coming back. If Rey were a Skywalker, she would soon be reunited with her father; however, Obi-Wan is dead therefore it is impossible for Rey to be reunited with him.
3. Luke Hiding in Plain Sight

If you've seen all seven
Star Wars movies then you have probably, at some point in your life, wondered why Obi-Wan Kenobi thought it was a good idea to hide Luke on his father's home planet, with the same last name, and with the last of his living relatives. Seems like a pretty stupid move, huh? Well this theory suggests that it was a completely intentional and well thought out plan on Kenobi's behalf. The planet of Tatooine holds so many traumatic memories for Darth Vader, so there is no reason he would ever want to revisit it. The seclusion of the planet prevents the Skywalker name from ever getting spread around and as long as Daddy never decides to return to his least favorite planet, Luke is free to live a normal life (for a while at least). 4. Not-so-evil Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren is the angsty, powerful villain that
Star Wars fans have been waiting for, whether they know it or not. However, Kylo Ren's status as a villain comes into question with this next theory brought to you buy the father of Tumblr user
murphycooper. In this theory he suggests that Kylo Ren's attempt to become a Sith is part of a plan to fully balance the force and kill Snoke. The charred helmet of Darth Vader is a reminder to fulfill his grandfather's mission, but Kylo knows that Darth Vader was good along and, in the end, chose to help the light side. Kylo Ren feels the pull to the light side because the reason he has come to the dark side is completely pure in intention. He has to kill Han in order to complete his transition and his father realizes this struggle in his son, thus leading to the next theroy...
5. Han pushed the button first

In the tragic scene where Han falls, dead, off the catwalk and the whole theatre bursts into tears it appears as though Kylo Ren has just murdered his own father. However, there are several theories that suggest otherwise. One goes in conjunction with the aforementioned theory that Kylo Ren is good and Han Solo knows it. He knows that Kylo Ren must kill him to complete his Sith trainging, but the lightside within him prevents him from doing so, thus Han must do it for him. The second theory is much sadder and suggests that Han had merely given up. After losing his son and his wife he couldn't bear the idea of losing his son again, so when he realized there was no helping him, Han chose to end his own life rather than allow his son to kill him, in the hopes that it would somehow reach him and bring Ben back from the depths of Kylo Ren.
6. Darth Jar Jar

This one may not be the most believable or the most plausible, but it is definitely the most fun. Reddit user Lumpawarroo came up with a very detailed theory that placed Jar Jar Binks in direct cahoots with Palpatine. The idea of this theory is that the dumb luck that keeps Jar Jar alive throughout the movies is much more than that. Jar Jar Binks may in fact be a skilled warrior, particularly in the art of Drunken Fist Boxing, and even a Jedi mind control master. The original poster suggests that with this amount of skill it is unlikely that Palpatine would have been able to fool Jar Jar and that the two of them had been coconspirators the whole time and were actually fooling everyone else. It's further suggested that Jar Jar may in fact be a Sith Lord and could potentially be none other than Snoke himself.
