'Star Wars' And Unanswered Questions

"The Force Awakens" took the box office by storm over the holidays and was made quite a leap financially. Money aside, the new story has left viewers and fans alike grasping for answers as a new story line developed loosely tying the previous films to the new one. J.J. Abrams did a great job with this one and gave us a new series to look forward too.

*SPOILER ALERT*

The First Order

The new division of evil in the star wars saga comes in the form of The First Order. The conspicuous group have no direct correlation to the dark side through relation. Kylo Ren, the new leader of the group, is a big admirer of Darth Vader who has since passed away. The idea of the first order came from a nugget in our own history on earth. J.J. Abrams designed the First Order after the idea of Nazi Germany. He saw the idea on the basis that some of the Nazi movement went into hiding and could potentially wreck havoc later on. The First Order also has an idea for a specific race whereas the Resistance has a wider variety of creatures on their side. Kylo Ren, the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, has taken the leadership role of the group and is set to take over the galaxy under the command of a figure named Snoke. This evil figure has been the talking point of many because of the lack of character development he sees. Going forward, The First Order will remain relevant and the story of Snoke may be revealed further.

The Resistance

On the other side of things, the Resistance has formed to combat the threat of The First Order. In the beginning of the movie, we meet two new characters by the name of Finn and Rey. Finn, a traitor of the First Order finds himself wrapped in the fight when we must help a special droid BB-8 get back to safety. Rey, a girl who makes her living on scavenging for parts gets on the wagon as well, as she helps rescue Finn. We find out that Rey may have relation to the infamous Luke Skywalker as she stumbles upon his lightsaber in underground storage. As the movie progresses, she finds out the she has the ability to manipulate other objects and people through the Force. This would suggest that she came from a family line of Jedis. However, her parents are unknown, and her relation to Kylo Ren is also a possibility.

As the introduction of this movie created a lot of hype for the "Star Wars" series, It also left its viewers with a very well thought out introduction for a series to develop. Going forward, the suspicions of many may be confirmed as we dive into the further genius that J.J. Abrams has brought to us in the form of cinema.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
