Stop Sleeping On FOX's 'Star' And Go Watch It

In 2016, FOX aired a new television show called "Star." I had seen previews for the shows hundreds of times, but I was never really interested in watching the premiere.

One night after a show I liked finished, "Star" came on. Out of curiosity, I decided to let it play - and from that moment on, I was hooked. I watched the show every night it aired and even listened to the show's music from time to time.

"Star" is not only suspenseful and full of drama (which I love in any show), but it also has great music powerful messages about real-world problems.

The show stars three bada** women trying to make it big in Atlanta, GA.

Star Davis and her sister Simone team up with the famous Alexandra Crane to form a girl group called "Take 3." The girls are managed by the sisters' mother's best friend Carlotta Brown, played by Queen Latifah.

These four women are the main characters in "Star" and they are all so talented. They play strong, determined, hardworking women who will not let anyone stop them from following their dreams. Their characters have been through so much already, but they always find a way to keep going.

I love shows that feature hardworking and determined women. The cast also includes huge stars like Queen Latifah, Jude Demorest, Destiny Ryan, Quincy Brown, Benjamin Bratt, and many more!

The storyline is also super suspenseful.

Not only is the cast amazing, but the whole show's storyline is very entertaining. "Star" is packed with drama. From romances to scandals and murders, this show has it all! Every time I watch "Star," I get so into it that I forget that it's just a show. There are also so many plot twists that I genuinely never see coming.

My absolute favorite thing about "Star" is how they highlight real-world problems.

One of the things that really sold me on this show was how it highlighted some major problems in the world. "Star" has aired many episodes that deal with heavy topics such as police brutality, addiction, immigration, and other topics.

I love and respect shows that view their audience as an opportunity to say something impactful and powerful. It shows the audience that no, this isn't just a TV show, this is real life. The things you are watching right now are actually happening, and something needs to happen. Action needs to take place.

To top it all off, the show has original music in every episode.

If you're a big rap and R&B fan, then "Star" is definitely made for you. Majority of the show's songs are a mix of R&B and rap, but there are some pop sounds in there from time to time. I genuinely like the music from the show. "Star" is currently on its third season and it's produced a variety of songs. from slow sappy love songs to full-on "partying it up" tunes.

The show has so much variety and powerful characters with even more powerful stories. I can't wait to see what the future hold for this show!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
