The corrupt North Korean regime seeks to instill fear in its neighboring countries and pronounced enemies including the United States. Kim Jong Un continues to oppress his own people and seeks to violate the sovereignty of other nations. However, the United States stands strong against terror, hate, corruption, and oppression alongside its allies. As the regime's numerous threats continue to mount, the United Nations gathered and declared their opposition to the instigating actions that could possibly to lead to World War III.
President Trump addressed the regime's increasingly aggressive actions and set the foundation for America's international affairs position in his first UN speech, "The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea. Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and his regime. The United States is ready, willing, and able, but hopefully, this will not be necessary." His strong words posed towards the hateful regime represents how the United States, in all its power and glory, refuses to be a bystander to unethical actions of a small but deadly country in the Pacific Ocean. History has repeatedly shown that passive and timid administrations that willingly submit to tyranny and adopt methods of appeasement will later regret their inaction.
North Korea is subject to a corrupt dictatorship and the Pacific could possibly be at the mercy of its powers if world leaders do not stand united against the powers of evil. Trump's bold words sought to stir a passionate rage in the world leaders to take action against a country that has tested nuclear bombs six times over. These weapons are meant for mass destruction, and the hydrogen bomb has been introduced to the rogue nation's supply along with the production of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) claimed to have capabilities of reaching the United States' mainland.
North Korea is a threat serious enough to catapult the world into a nuclear war if their actions are not met with consequences from a unanimous standpoint of world leaders. The United Nations Security Council recently approved watered down sanctions against North Korea in response to their sixth nuclear test. The new sanctions prohibit North Korea from the sale of natural gas. Furthermore, the country is limited to 8.5 million barrels of crude and refined oil exported annually. Refined petroleum is capped at 2 million barrels a year. Textile exports, a main source of income, will also be banned. The compromise that the United Nations Security Council reached proves that measures can be taken now to prevent the disturbing actions of North Korea to spread past its borders.
Rocket Man's hopes to bring harm to the United States or its allies are futile so long as the United Nations chooses to fight for justice and peace on a global level. Trump's speech was bold, and it acts as a predecessor for bold, realistic policies that seek to advance peace, security, humanity, freedom, and justice on a global aspect.
