6 Stages Of Getting Ready To Go Back To School

I am currently in the process of getting ready to return to school for my senior year. Every single year the process of packing is the same. For starters, I always procrastinate. I think this is because I never know exactly where to start. No matter how many times I've gone through packing for school, I always have trouble getting started. Making a shopping list, forgetting to buy things on the shopping list, and freaking out about school are all part of the scary process that is packing and getting ready to return to school.

1. Realizing I've procrastinated for too long

It's always within the last week at home before going back to school that I realize that I have done no packing, no shopping, nothing to prepare myself for the upcoming school year. Realizing that I really need to get everything done within the week is a very, very stressful realization. You'd think I would learn with the amount of times I have gone through this, but it is the same every year.

2. Making my shopping list

I get very overwhelmed when I see how long my back to school shopping list can get. Since I live in an apartment, I have a lot more things that I need to get. So, the list can get very very long. I have found that it is best to make my list as organized as possible including boxes next to each item to check off as I buy them.

3. Going shopping

I typically don't mind shopping, but for some reason to me back to school shopping is the worst. Especially because with all of the things I need, the prices really start to add up.

4. Getting home and remembering all of the things I forgot to buy

The second I get home I usually realize a whole list of things that I need which I forgot to buy, which means another boring shopping trip.

5. Trying to pack my clothes

Since I go to an out of state school, I don't get to come home as often. Which means, I need to take all of my clothes with me, or I won't have them when I need them. Trying to get everything to fit in as small a suitcase I can is extremely frustrating.

6. The feeling of finally being packed and ready for school

Finally being finished with back to school packing, even if it is just hours before its time to leave, is an amazing feeling. The next thing I have to worry about is unpacking my stuff once I get to school and organizing my apartment.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
