Road trips are always an adventure, but there is a special moment for your first solo road trip. From the planning, the driving, eating, getting gas, and pee breaks, they're all up to you. There is no working around anyone else's schedule or habits, and it's all up to you.

1. The planning for it

You're checking your list, and checking it twice. Everything is nailed down, and nothing is going to get in to your way.

2. The day before

I leave in the moooooorninggggggggg!

3. The day of

Is this all gonna fit? I think this is everything. I hope this is everything.

4. When you leave

GPS says arrival time is 8:41 p.m.? We'll see about that.

5. One hour in

You're excited, happy, and still singing your heart out to everything you hear.

6. Three hours in

I'm more than halfway there. I am better than these roads. I am better than these other ignorant drivers.

7. Five hours in

I think I am going to actually fall asleep at the wheel. Jesus, take the wheel. Can I just be there already?

8. When you’re almost there

You're slightly insane, hysterical, and ready to be out of your car already.

9. When you finally get there

Wow, I'm here. I made it. Somehow. I don't know how. How did I even get here? The last few hours have been a blur. I don't care. I made it.

10. When you have to come home

Well, that was fun. Let me go die in my car again.
