1. Graduation
After working for four long years during high school, the day has finally arrived! It’s definitely weird thinking you'll never see 95 percent of these people again. Lots of goodbyes will be said and many tears will be shed. Everyone, including your parents, grandparents, and frenemy's great aunt is crying. And don't even get started with you and your best friend. It is time for a well-deserved summer break, even if it only lasts for five weeks.
2. Summer!
Ah, summer. The second after you walked across the stage, you felt the "summer" relief and freedom. Since you had about an hour to think about your plans while waiting for everyone to walk, you planned out your next two weeks' adventures. Beach. Mall. Nap. Maybe see that new movie? Oh, and definitely finish that season of *insert whatever Netflix show you are binge watching.* Also, getting started on that summer diet and work out regime that you know will last about four hours. That sounds like summer to me!
3. Orientation
"This place is so beautiful, but it is HUGE; how am I not going to get lost?!" is a thought you have about every few steps while on campus. Whether it is your first time finally seeing the campus, or your 100th, the place is magical (even if you have to sit through three days and two nights of countless lectures). So now that you are in adult Disney World and have finally finished listening to the head of the college, what's up next? Freedom! Well, almost. The few but agonizingly long weeks ahead are the only thing that stand between you and summer session.
4. The weeks leading up to summer session
How much dorm room shopping can you possibly do in the next 35 days? The answer is a lot. Amazon Prime, Target, and Bed Bath and Beyond have taken a gross amount of your parents' and graduation money. Living on your own now means you need all this stuff, right?! Another super fun about the weeks before school are the questions. "How many more days are you here for?," "Are you living in a dorm?," and "What are you majoring in?" are ongoing questions for students headed off to school for the summer. It's really great being reminded how close yet how far you are to real life while waiting anxiously over the beginning of summer.
All in all, the weeks before school are a good time. Take the time to say goodbye to all your loved ones and make memories that will you remember forever!
