If You're In A Mid-Semester Crisis You Will Absolutely Go Through These 25 Stages

Every time school starts back up again, we go back motivated and ready to take on another year. The first few weeks are a breeze. Life is easy at this point, so we start slacking off slowly because there really isn't much to do yet until you check your grades and see the not-so-good progress you've made. And then, it hits you: We're halfway done with the semester. Panic sets in and mid-semester crisis begin its course. We all know how ugly it can get.

1. Realizing the semester is halfway over

Time goes by so fast when you're always on your bullshit!

2. Also realizing your grades are borderline

3. Trying to find all your syllabi to see how many tests and quizzes are left

4. . . . And trying to figure out what grades you need to bump up your overall grade

This might be the only kind of math calculation I don't mind doing.

5. Checking your planner and looking at all the due dates coming up

6. Hating yourself for putting off the 10-page paper that's due next week

7. Dreading the fact you have a test in every class during the same week

You already know how much of a struggle this is.

8. Convincing yourself that you won't procrastinate

9. And then, laughing at yourself because you already know that's complete BS

10. Considering the only other option: dropping out

Sorry, Mom and Dad. It's not ideal, but the struggle boat is about to sink and take me down with it.

11. Crying over all the work you have to do

12. Getting way too stressed out that you start overeating

13. Trying to avoid everything by staying in bed longer and sleeping more

What can sleep not solve?

14. Starting a show after another instead of studying

15. Waking up one day all motivated to do some work and some studying

16. Going to the library to be productive only to somehow end up online shopping

I was supposed to open a book and read, but I opened my wallet and did some damage to my bank account instead.

17. Looking (frantically) everywhere on the Internet for a quizlet for your tests

18. Going out twice or three times in a row after telling yourself you won't

19. Counting the days until Thanksgiving break and wishing it was sooner

I'd rather sit at the dinner table and listen to my family roast me just like the turkey in front of me.

20. Feeling tired from feeling overwhelmed and accomplishing nothing

21. Questioning your abilities and doubting yourself

22. Crying some more because you might not get that 4.0 this semester

Hey! C's get degrees, right?

23. Having a Sharpay Evans moment and realizing nothing can get in your way

24. Pushing yourself even if it means sacrificing some (more like A LOT) of sleep

25. Feeling accomplished and ready to ace every single midterm

After some emotional and mental roller coaster, I am back and I am here to get my A's.

You may think you still have a lot of time left to get your act together and finish the semester strong (even if it's barely), but the clock is ticking faster than you think. If half the semester can just go by that quickly, so will the remaining half. It's time to get serious, like for real serious this time around. Don't settle for C's because they get degrees; chase those A's like you chase after those boys who refuse to reciprocate the love you have for them!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
