The Stages Of Being The First Friend Home

By the end of the spring semester we're all itching to get out of school and go back home. No more work, just play. If you're that lucky friend that gets to go home earlier than everyone else you get bragging rights. Yet, once you are home it's not all fun and games because no one else is home to hang with you.

1. Excitement

Finally you're back in your own bed, driving your own car, eating at all the local joints. The idea of a summer full of opportunities is increasing your excitement for the memories to be made.

2. Boredom

You moved all your things back in and you are back to work, but during your free time there is nothing to do. Homework? Nope. You finished all that. Nap? You've already taken two. TV? All that's on during this hour is Dora the Explorer and Yo Gabba Gabba! Hard pass. Hang out with a friend or two? They're still taking exams.

4. Sadness

You're in bed by 9:30! Who even does that? Usually you'd be out and about with your best friend, but she's currently at a house party back at school. She said she'll facetime you when she gets back to her dorm, but then you'll just be reminded of all the fun you could have been having at school... If you weren't done so damn early. Which brings us to #5...

5. Regret

You regret moving your last test up a few days because all your school friends are still at school too, so you could've just spent the weekend with them before your next test. Total rookie move...

6. Bartering

At this point you're so bored without the squad that you will do just about anything to get them home. Even make deals with the devil, I'm kidding ... sort of. A different type of bartering you should think of doing is sucking up to your parents while your friends are away. That way when they come home your parents will be happy to let you go out whenever you want.

7. Happiness

Your friends are finally coming home!!! Just two more sleeps. It's time for the summer filled with wild memories to begin! Happy Summer!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
