We all know the pain and dread that start to spring up inside once you realize Spring Semester is just around the corner.

From pure denial to full-blown insanity, we've all experienced something on this spectrum of dread.

So as you dwell on the fact that classes are starting, here is a list of a few things most students will experience before they return to school for their Spring semester:

1. Annoyance

When your school starts to send out emails regarding the upcoming semester.... three days after break begins.

2. Disgust

When you hear someone say they're ready to go back to school already.

3. Self-medication

When you start to panic about all the classes you have to take this semester and realize there is only one thing that can put your mind at ease... food.

4. Despair

When you realize you not only need a brand new Stats book, but you also need the online access code. Why is life so unfair?!

5. Procrastination

When you realize all you did was sleep and binge-watch Netflix shows instead of accomplishing the many things you planned to do over break.

6. Rage

When your mom looks at you from across the dinner table and says "So when do you go back to class?"

7. Confusion

When your friends send a text in the group chat trying to make plans because they leave to go back to school in a week and you still thought there were two weeks of break left.

8. Envy

Realizing you have to trek through a cold, snowy campus, while your other friends are currently in Florida, walking to campus wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

9. Anxiety

When you're starting to panic about break coming to an end and all the little voices in your head start talking at once about all the things you still need to do.

10. Panic

The moment when you realize you haven't picked your classes for this semester and the classes you were supposed to take are all filled.

11. Shock

When you go to check out all the books you need for this semester and your total comes to a whopping $743.75.

12. Pain

When you go to check your bank account after paying for all of your books and it not only hurts emotionally, but physically as well.

13. Frustration

When you get that email from FAFSA and it states that you won't be getting any financial assistance this semester.

14. Acceptance

Coming to terms with the fact that break is practically over even though it never seems like it lasts long enough.

15. Embarrassment

Walking into class on the first day of the semester and noticing the cutest person there, only to catch their eye when you're doing something extremely stupid.

Good luck on your upcoming semester, everyone!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
