There are many steps to procrastination

10 Stages Of A College Students Spring Semester

It is getting towards the end of the year which means us college students are freaking out. We are worried about final projects and final exams but at the same time, we are planning our summer which should be the last thing on our minds. Here are the stages every college student goes through during their last semester.

1. We get a planner

Odyssey

This way we can start organizing our thoughts. We write down our homework, what days we work and possibly a song lyric we just heard. Then we forget to keep up with it or possibly lose it but once we find it we start it up again.

2. Then we start our studying

Giphy

We are doing good. We are studying and getting our projects done. Maybe we even work out a bit to keep our adrenaline up. We got our brain pumping and we are feeling good.

3. We decide to take a "break"

Giphy

You know we worked for a solid couple of hours it is time to treat ourselves to some social media or Netflix. One episode, maybe two or maybe we decide to watch a movie but only one. It's all about the balance, you know.

4. We just found some new music

Giphy

During our break or studying we find some new music. Well now we have to jam to it, a good song deserves our undivided attention. So, we jam out, maybe dance in our room or start texting our friends "hey check out this new song" until we remember we were doing something.

5. So, we go back to studying

Giphy

We are doing good. We are studying and getting our projects done. Then our eyes start to droop, we are getting tired. So, we can either take a nap or get coffee but do we have time for a nap? No one has time for that.

6. We drink our weights in coffee

Giphy

We get the big one and maybe an extra shot, or maybe the whole pot... We get ourselves wired to the point where now we can't even sit still, let alone study. So, instead we start doing things like clean our room. The rooms messy and it needs to be cleaned anyways and we are still being productive!

7. We decide to go out "one last time"

Tenor

One last time before finals start and we get too busy to go out with our friends. This is a good time to stop and let your stress go. So, we dress up and go out and maybe go out "one last time" next week, but this time it is for real.

8. And we study some more

MakeAGif

It is the next morning and we got our coffee and possibly an Advil. But we are studying and getting stuff done. It is getting close and there is not that much left of this semester. We got this.

9. Then we break down...

Giphy

We don't got this. Why did we choose to go to college? Why did we grow up and have to work these jobs? Why couldn't we stay a baby, a baby doesn't have to do anything, why did we grow up? What is the meaning of life? Why are we here? Why is my ceiling so bumpy? I should get up; I am creating a puddle with my tears and my back is getting wet.

10. We are finally done

Giphy

We have turned in our projects and finished our exams. We aren't worried about the results because at least we made it and now it is time for the summer.

Every college student goes through stress but it gets us ready for the stress of being an adult. All of us have our break downs and procrastinate like our lives depended on it, but we all have the ability to be successful.

Good luck!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
