After a long and hard semester, there is one week that represents the light at the end of the tunnel -- and that is spring break. It's a time to put school on the back burner and unwind. Unfortunately spring break trips can be pricey because it is a high travel time of the year, meaning hotels and flights are really expensive around this time. Every college student deserves to go somewhere special for spring break so here are some affordable spring break trips for college students on a budget who want to hit the beach.

1. Myrtle Beach, SC

This beach is a city and vacation spot off the Atlantic coast. You can enjoy the white sand, the beach side rides and the parties hosted by the best DJ's. This is a fun spring break trip for budget conscious travelers.

2. Daytona Beach, FL

This beach is off of Florida's Atlantic Coast. This will be an amazing affordable trip for college students because of the 80 degree weather and the live boardwalk. Many college students flock to Daytona Beach during spring break so don't be surprised to see familiar faces.

3. Austin, TX

OK, I know this was supposed to be all about having fun in the sun, but this is a great, affordable place to visit during spring break. SXSW is a place known for its live music festival that host the hottest artist. If you are a music loving on a budget college student this is the perfect bring break trip for you.

4. Cancun

As you can tell by the image above, Cancun is beautiful. They offer all-inclusive resort packages, miles of white-sanded, crystal-blue water beaches and crazy nice weather. This place is perfect for the on a budget college kid who wants to spring break internationally.

5. South Padre Island, TX

Surrounded by nothing but water and beach, this place is really affordable and a familiar spring break location for many college students. Rooms are inexpensive, bars encourage character, and DJ's keep the party jumpin'.

6. San Diego

If you want to visit a west coast beach for a low price, here you go. The weather doesn't get to hot here, but it is warm enough to enjoy the miles of beaches that San Diego Islands offer.
