Your Spring Break As Told By Sloths

Each spring break provides unique and fun experiences for everyone. However, everyone can relate to the experiences of sloths, especially over a break from school.

Stage 1: Sleep

Everyone can relate to this sleepy little fellow when their head hits the pillow the first night of spring break. You don't have to stay up late trying to study, and there's no need to wake up for that 8:30 a.m. class that you never should have signed up for.

Stage 2: Enjoy your pets

The moment you emerge from your 12-hour slumber, you'll likely find your favorite pet sitting on top of you, ready to receive the petting of their lifetime. You have probably been looking forward to reuniting with your pet even more than your friends and family.

Stage 3: Meet up with your hometown friends

After snoozing through the rest of the day, you decide that you'll allow time for human interaction and call up your high school friends. You all get the chance to hang out and realize that you are all as weird as you always were.

Stage 4: Attempt a new skill

It's a couple of days into break and you have nothing to do during the day (there's no way you're starting your homework yet), so you decide to learn something new. Yoga has always seemed cool and it makes you sound athletic, so you sift through YouTube videos and attempt some. However, you quickly realize you have no balance or flexibility, and remember that's why you never tried to do yoga in the first place.

Stage 5: Eat

After attempting and failing to learn a new skill, you remember one thing you're great at — eating. You call your friends so you won't feel guilty about doing it alone, and you hit up all of the local food places that you don't have in your college town. It's a great idea until the food coma hits.

Stage 6: Regret

You wake up halfway through break, falling out of bed groggily due to the enormous amount of laziness piled on top of you. The past several days are merely hazy Netflix binges in your memory, and you hate that you've wasted half of your break. You realize you only have a few days left, so you vow to make the most of your remaining time.

Stage 7: Cleaning up

You decide to take a shower for the first time this week and quickly realize that you still feel dirty somehow. A trip to the spa clears everything up and you feel ready to take on the rest of your break.

Stage 8: Lake time

Your friends ask you to come to the lake for the day, and thanks to your new found confidence, you're okay with being in a swimsuit. You cruise around on the lake, get a little burned, but love every minute of it.

Stage 9: Selfies

What would a trip to the lake be without selfies? Your friends have to see that you actually got off your couch over break, which is probably more than some of them can say. They aren't the best selfies because your hair is tangled, your makeup is smeared and your nose is red from the sun, but a few filters make everything okay.

Stage 10: Flirting

When everyone comes back from the lake, you all decide to get dressed up and go out. Fueled by the fun you had today, you are ready to flirt with whoever you encounter tonight. Unfortunately, it becomes obvious that you are a little socially awkward and you end up enduring uncomfortable small talk the whole night.

Stage 11: Hammocking

The day's events wore you out and you need to recharge by lounging in a hammock. You're really excited when you finally manage to find two trees close enough together, and after a few attempts, you are chilling like a pro.

Stage 12: Finding full confidence and zero shame

The events of most of your spring break have taught you that you can't let your inhibitions keep you from enjoying your week off. You approach the rest of the break with excitement and manage to make each day count.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
