Spring Break as Told by HBO's 'Girls'

“I don't want to freak you out but I think that I might be the voice of my generation. Or at least a voice of a generation.”

Well, we all know what time of year it is — it's spring break (Sprang Brake 4 Ever). Many college kids flock to the beach for a week of warm weather, endless partying, and a few too many bad decisions. This week is one of the most tiring weeks you'll ever endure and HBO's Girls know a thing or two about it.

Sunday

Your first full day of Spring Break. You cant wait to get into your bikini and start having the time of your life. You've got your friends, your drinks, and the rest of the week ahead of you. This day is when you feel the most optimistic because hey, it's spring break; you're ready to go.

Monday

Monday night is the night that bites everyone. You're just too excited to finally be on spring break and something tells you it's a good idea to take a few too many shots. You wake up the next morning wanting to sleep all day, but you know you have to get up and rally because after all, it's spring break. Thankfully, the sun is shining and it's the perfect day to head to the beach and soak up some rays.

Tuesday

Still going strong and ready to PAAAARTYYYYY. At this point in the week, you're a little bit tired, but when the cute boy you met on the beach invites you to come to their house for a party, you know you and your gang are already there.

The Bathroom

The struggle of 14 girls in a 10 person house — 2 Bathrooms, 14 people … community showers. The struggle is real. You know how hard it is for you to get ready in your own bathroom alone, much less sharing it with all of your friends. This certain obstacle takes strategic planning and showering skills to make sure all of your friends are ready and lookin' like fly hunnies.

Wednesday

The mid week struggle. This is a pivotal day for many spring breakers. Wednesday separates those who are hard core, and the ones that are going to go ahead and tap out for the week.

The Randos

When the totally cool guy you and your friend met on the beach tells you he will walk y'all home, then you realize y'all don't want to talk to him anymore — sorry bruh. You both know your girls are way more fun and they're probably waiting for you at home with dinner.

Thursday

The day when you realize how long you've been away from your responsibilities and start to consider never going back. You've been having way to much fun sitting on the beach hanging with your friends and the real world just seems like too much.

Friday

The full gravity of your week's hangover starts to set in and you begin to panic over the things you've done through out the week. You start to get embarrassed but try to calm yourself in hopes that no one will remember.

Saturday

Fortunately by then, the glamour and excitement of spring break is over and worn off. You're tired, cranky, and plenty ready to head back home. You're long awaited week of parties and getting roasted by the sun is done, and you're ready for it to become a memory. So you pack up your bags, put on your most comfy clothes, and drive yourself back home so you can sleep till Monday. Spring break thanks for the memz.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
