Spring Break

Is it really a break?

You'd think that the reason colleges give you a Spring Break is to come home to your family, relax, and unwind. However, that is not the case for me, and I doubt it is the case for you. Here are 6 reasons why I feel like my "Spring Break" isn't exactly a break:

1. I am looking for summer jobs

If you are coming home for the summer, and want to make a little money, then, Spring Break is the only time to set up interviews and apply for positions.

2. Some classes have midterms after the break

This is annoying because you have to live in the constant fear of forgetting the material, but you also have no motivation to study for it because you are supposed to be on vacation.

3. Do you have younger siblings?

Then you end up playing chauffeur the entire break. Honestly, it's fun because you miss driving while at school, but it not fun because you have to be awake.

4. You want to sleep until the week is over

Not allowed....you may be accused of being lazy. No one realizes how sleep deprived we have been.

5. Doctor, dentist, vet, etc.

If you are anything like me, then you scheduled all of you appointments for the same week, meaning no break.

6. Last but not least, god forbid, your family wants to take a trip

Honestly, you low-key just want to sit and stay in the comfort of you childhood home, You do NOT want to travel

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
