Spring Break means different things to a lot of people. There are those that envision their toes being enveloped by sand and the sun beaming on their face, the ones who can hear all the shows that they've stopped watching calling their name to binge watch and those who will sacrifice almost anything just to get a home cooked meal and to get back to more familiar surroundings. Regardless of what type of Spring Breaker you are, once you get back you realize that maybe all the fun you had wasn't worth it.
It definitely was worth it. But now that you're back you have no idea where all your money went and how in the world all this work piled up so quick. You probably started a countdown to school being over because you got a taste of freedom and now you want those three months of no worries as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, that countdown is moving slower than dial up in 1997. What can you do about it? Absolutely nothing because you can't make time move faster. It doesn't help hearing arguments over how many weeks are left because the last week doesn't count or how many days are left because the weekends don't count.
Every time you cross off a day you've lost 24 hours and gained three assignments. Go directly to Jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Some days are bearable and other days just drag on and it doesn't help that the weather is in an awkward stage where it's lukewarm like bath water or raining out of nowhere. It's become increasingly easier to sleep through class or get to class and get annoyed by everyone and everything. The girl whose name you don't know who sat next to you becomes the girl who breathes like a car engine starting. OH, you have an assignment due? That's nice, what's my teachers name, again? What class is this?
It's been two weeks since Spring Break and with five weeks to go I've never heard more people talk about dropping out. Spring Break was a mixed blessing. It was that long weekend you needed whether you took it away from people or with people. But it was also the unexpected snow days that made you procrastinate so bad you can't even remember what you learned before it snowed.
