The Ultimate Spring Break Bucket List For The Broke College Kid

I'm going to be 100% honest — this bucket list is actually what I've been wanting since the spring semester began.

The Ultimate Spring Break Bucket List For The Broke College Kid

It's finally spring break, which means lots of rest and relaxation! And sleeping and Netflix are unashamedly on the top of my spring break bucket list after grueling midterms and exhausting all-nighters. Even though my bucket list does not resemble the extravagance of some — like The Bucket List Family (side note: if you haven't heard of this amazing family — check them out!) — but it is the bucket list of a normal, broke college girl home for spring break. And I'm honestly so ready for it.

1. Catch Up on Some Much Needed Z's

Giphy

Seriously, I can't remember the last time I got a full night's sleep. So, when I have a week off with absolutely nothing that I have to do, I might as well get some sleep. Like, A LOT of sleep!

2. Binge Watch My Favorite Shows

Giphy

Like I said, sleeping and Netflix are at the top of my list. It's just so relaxing to binge-watch shows and not have to stress about everything I'm not doing! Maybe this spring break I'll binge-watch some shows on Hulu and Amazon Prime, too. Sounds adventurous, am I right?

3. Make Everyday a Beach Day

Giphy

Because why would I not make everyday a relaxing beach day since it's practically my backyard! I can catch some Z's, watch Netflix, and work on my tan while there. Sounds like the ultimate spring break to me!

4. Hang Out with My Pets

Giphy

My cats take naps. My cats chill on the couch during Netflix time. My cats don't care if I'm still in my pajamas at four in the afternoon. Who else would I want to hang out with on the ultimate spring break?!

5. Run, Run, Run!

Giphy

Since I chose a Netflix subscription over a gym membership, I have to make up for it somehow! So to make up for all the binge-watching, I'll have to fit some free exercise in there somehow. I mean, being fit is on my everyday bucket list, anyway, so it works out!

6. Spend Time with the Family

Giphy

And, finally, spending time with the family that I barely get to see because of college, the family as goofy as me! I miss seeing my biggest cheerleaders every day, so hanging out with them completes the cheapest, most relaxing spring break a broke college student could ask for!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
