Spring Break Is Around The Corner

March is almost here, March means Spring Break is almost here!

I am so excited that in less than two weeks I will officially be on Spring Break! I will be back home in my bed, wondering what to do with myself. I might catch up on books that have been on my reading list since the beginning of first semester and winter break. I may also chill with friends that I haven't seen since winter break or haven't seen at all since I started college or what I may actually do, which probably most students might do, stay in bed and sleep in all day. The only obstacle that I have to get through is something that I didn't have to worry about last semester, but this semester I do: midterms.

Yes midterms, which I only have information that I am having one so far, but who knows, I still have two more literature based classes that I have to see if I have midterms and my Spanish class. I'm not much worried for my speech class since we just finished our first one. That one midterm is British Lit, which will be fun in its own special way somehow.

I just miss home and being able to sleep in, or just lay down without realizing that I have a project that I need to do, homework that I need to finish, or anything that involves any type of work. I am going to be catching up on my shows like Dragon Ball Z "Kai" and Dragon Ball Super because it's sometimes hard to try to fit that in on my Saturdays since I usually have band, but hopefully after Spring Break I can make more time to see that since the basketball season will be over. But there is one show that I am really looking forward to that I'm happy that Toonami will be picking up on: Samurai Jack!

Samurai Jack was one of the best Cartoon Network/Toonami show ever back when Cartoon Network had good cartoons in my opinion. The show ending was amazing and I wanted the show to get another season when I was younger, but finding that on March 11, the first Saturday that I am on Spring Break, will be when they aired the first episode, that is my plan for that whole day. I've seen the trailer of it and it looks so amazing! I heard rumors about how Cartoon Network was bringing back Johnny Bravo, but I don't know if I want that show to come back. Not that I'm saying it wasn't good because it was good and funny, but the way that "CN" is having cartoons, I don't want the show to have a reboot, but a continuation like how Samurai Jack is. Not like Teen Titans that is now Teen Titans Go and the Powerpuff Girls and well, I stopped watching the new one after the first episode because of character design, but I am pumped for Samurai Jack.

I do have a countdown clock for when break will be here for me, even though it's only like a week, but it will be a week spent on catching up on important things. Sleeping and my shows....and friends!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
