If there's anything I remember about high school, it's wondering why the hell my life wasn't like Serena van der Woodsen's. She was beautiful, popular, rich, quick-witted, and could make the will of even the hardest heart bend with one wink and a quick flip of her flawless blonde hair. In essence, she was perfect.
One would have thought that the Upper East Side beauty was formed in the light of the actress who played her, because hello, Blake Lively is everything any of us should strive to be.
Ugh. My eyes literally hurt from looking at her for too long. The eyes, the teeth, the perfect skin and sickeningly-amazing blonde locks, and that annoyingly adorable freckle by her nose...I feel sick.
I'll admit, I lost a little respect for her when the rumor came out that she was dating Penn Badgley a.k.a. Dan Humphrey. I mean honestly Blake, Humphrey? But then she redeemed herself (and then some) when she dated, and eventually married THE Ryan Reynolds.
Honestly people I just can't deal with this. And as if having him look at her like that wasn't enough, she had to go and have his baby who, let's be honest, was already more attractive than any of us the moment it was conceived.
Yes, Blake Lively does indeed have it all. But recently, something has come to light that is troubling for a lot of people.
That's right. She. Dyed. Her. Hair.
So what does this mean for her fellow blondes? Does there come a day when every carefree, better-than-you blonde needs to set aside her flawless ways and join the rest of the (much-more-boring) brunette world?
Take note that she isn't completely brunette...one could assume that she instantly regretted her decision and demanded that her hairdresser do what she could to save her princess-like locks.
What does Ryan think of this? Did he yell? Did he laugh at the so-poorly-executed joke he clearly thought this was? Did her newborn baby cry? Does Ryan need another blonde to console him during this time of trouble and can someone give him my number? All questions I hope to have answered.
However, there is something we can all count on in this time of trouble. Blake Lively is still better-looking than arguably 100% of us. And if there's anything that Serena van der Woodsen taught us, it's that you do what you want when you want to do it, and anyone who has anything to say about it can stick it where the sun don't shine.
XOXO,
A Very Confused Blonde
