Spotlight Music Artist: Mitch Goudy
Mitch Goudy

Something new that I thought would be cool to do is a spotlight on an upcoming or not too well-known music artist. I thought this because what better way to get a name out there then an article online. This week, I decided to pick Country music artist, Mitch Goudy.

Mitch Goudy is 20 years old and was born and raised in Southeast Iowa. He's not just a singer; he's also a songwriter, musician, and producer. He is truly a man of many talents. Mitch's interest in country music started after suffering a traumatic knee injury which limited his ability to play sports forever. Goudy's dad bought him his first guitar. From that moment on he knew his passion.

Goudy writes, records, and sings all his own music. He frequently works with Diana Upton-Hill. They are label mates so they write, sign background vocals, and tour together. They are both signed to Third Floor Records owned by Justin Hill. Justin also writes and produces. He released his first single in 2013 called, "Blow These Speakers Out". He released his 2nd single "Ain't My Fault" in 2014, and most recently his 3rd single "My Girl's Hand". Goudy has created a new type of country music called Hybrid Country. Hybrid Country for Mitch is a mix of country, pop, rock, and EDM. His sound is unique and one of a kind. Goudy has recently released his first music video for "Ain't My Fault" in 2014. Take a look by clicking here.

Mitch's most recent awards include CMA's Who New To Watch in 2014 and Digital Journal's Top Ten Male Country Artists to Watch. He endorses Strut Apparel and Stay Outdoors. He is currently in the studio working on writing and recording new music as well as playing shows across the midwest.

Mitch is very into connecting with fans. Whether it's on social media or in person. One big thing he does is weekly video chats with fans through his fan club site called Goudy's Rowdies. Through this site you can watch the weekly video chats, do weekly challenges called Dirty Deeds, cash in your stars for merchandise, and keep up with Mitch on all his social media! So you're probably wondering what Dirty Deeds and stars are. Well, Dirty Deeds are the weekly challenges which are usually just tweeting out thank yous to radio DJ's or tweeting DJ's and radio stations to play his new single. For doing these deeds and posting pictures of you and Mitch on the fan site you can earn stars. You can also earn stars by inviting your friends to join the site as well! With these stars you can cash them out for a code to use in his Merch store online. Every 1000 stars equals a dollar in his store. Oh yeah get this, just for signing up Mitch will send you a personalized signed picture! How cool is that!! So just hit the link at the top of this paragraph and get signed up!

So you wanna know more take and follow Mitch Goudy on Twitter @MitchGoudy, on Facebook, on Instagram @MitchGoudy, on YouTube, his website http://MitchGoudy.com, and his fan club Goudy's Rowdies.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
