Thinking About Taking A Spontaneous Trip With Your Bestie Girls Right Now? I 10/10 Recommend It
Shelby Davis

Just last weekend, some of my best friends and I decided that we would go to Nashville after our football game got moved there, because of the hurricane. Despite what you may believe, this was an excuse to just go to Nashville, Nashvegas if you will. Even though it was a lot of driving for a short weekend, it was definitely worth it and a little getaway I would not trade for the world. If you want memories that will really last a lifetime, go on a spontaneous trip with your besties right now. Don't second guess yourself. Don't overthink it too much. Just book the Airbnb and go.

The beauty of spontaneous weekend trips is that you don't have to have all of the details figured out. You just have to have a place to sleep and you can figure everything else out later when you get there. The only thing we knew for sure was that we were going to our football game, other than that, we got recommendations from friends who had been to Nashville before and we picked where we wanted to eat when we got there and wanted to eat. We decided between going to Broadway or Downtown that night in our Airbnb. We went to Broadway if you were curious. Spontaneous weekend trips are what you make of it, you don't have to spend a lot of money, or you can if you want. You don't (and shouldn't) stress over the small details.

A spontaneous trip is sometimes all you need to take your mind off of things because personally, that was what I needed. I have had a lot on my mind lately and a trip away for the weekend, as short as it was, it was exactly what I needed to get my mind off of things and start fresh. I think a quick getaway is something we all need once in a while to clear our heads and maybe even get a new perspective.

Yes, a spontaneous weekend trip is going to be a lot of driving and you're going to need some money to eat, but it is so worth it for the priceless memories you will make with your friends. As someone who loves to plan and have every detail figured out before she does anything, I think it is so important to get out of that mindset every now and then and do something that you did not really plan for. Our whole trip started with seeing that UVA's football game was moved to Nashville and asking the question "do we want to go to Nashville?" From that, we just figured it out as we went, and so can you!

What are you waiting for? Pick a destination that is within driving distance, pack up your bag(s), and get in the car and go. Don't stress the details. You will figure it all out as needed. Be spontaneous, it is so worth it and so needed. So get out there and start exploring, what the world and your friends have to offer you in this life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
