Oh, "Spongebob Squarepants." You either love it or hate it. For me, "Spongebob" is one of the best things to ever exist. Now when people ask me what my spirit animal is, I say Patrick Star.
Now some of you may be confused, or even surprised by this, but let's think about this for a second. Patrick Star is pretty much the spirit animal of college students everywhere.
Sure, people label Patrick as dumb and an idiot, but there is another side to Mr. Star that we don't see very often. Patrick, next to Spongebob, is probably the most optimistic character in the whole series. He's a genius when it comes to improvisation and can think of anything on the fly; sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Along with that, Patrick is extremely lazy -- however, that's on purpose.
Patrick is basically living the life of all college students. College students are the best example in today's society when it comes to being optimistic. We are constantly hoping and striving to be the best we can be in our lives.
College is almost like a giant game of improvisation. We have to constantly stay on our toes and if we want to look at the best example of improvisation we need to look at how Patrick lives his life. Also, procrastination and laziness are true struggles of college students everywhere. We want to do everything at the last minute and enjoy life rather than suffer while doing work.
Patrick chooses to live life to his fullest instead of being tied down by the struggles of life. Sure, Patrick may not be the best role model for us college students, but that's OK. Patrick can help us realize our true potential as college students by allowing us to see that improvisation in life and living life to the fullest is the best way to spend our time in college.
So strive to be like Patrick because he is the spirit animal of college students everywhere.
