5 Things We All Do On Christmas Break

How we're all spending the break honestly.

We've all been thrilled for our Christmas Break and we're grateful for no homework or tests. It's a great time to be lazy and not worry that we're wasting our time. Here are the five things everyone will do on their Christmas break.

1. Watch Netflix

We won't just watch a couple of movies or maybe a couple shows. It's time to go big or go home! You will probably watch two full series, or more, depending on how much time you spend sleeping. Now is the perfect time to catch up on all of your shows without worrying about wasting time that you could use to write that paper due in three days. You also have time to watch most of the things you've been curious about or people have told you that you must watch. Basically, it's a time you can watch Netflix and not feel guilty about it.

2. Living Out of The Suitcase

Nobody can be bothered to unpack all of their clothes when they're just going to repack it all in about a month. So instead we just dig through the suitcase until you think you found what you're looking for and if you didn't you just grab things from the top. If all else fails you just wear whatever you had left behind in your room, even if it's not your favorite sweater.

3. Messing Up Your Okayish Sleep Schedule

Who needs a regular sleep schedule! Instead of going to bed at midnight and waking up around nine now you can stay up until four in the morning and wake up at noon, or later. Of course, it wasn't always like this, it started with you immediately going to sleep at seven and waking up at noon. However, it doesn't matter what your sleep schedule is now and you don't even care that it's going to be really messed up when you're back on campus.

4. Eating Junk Food

Since it's the holiday season you decide it's completely okay to just eat whatever you want. Nothing is off limits to you anymore, you eat tons of candy and you've started hoarding bags of chips in your room so you don't have to leave the comfort of your bed while watching Netflix. You come out of your room to eat dinner with the family, but that's the only time you're not eating processed junk that you know is unhealthy.

5. Buying Last Minute Christmas Gifts!

We're days away from Christmas and now you've realized you still need to get gifts for a few people. So first you try to go through your things and see if anything can be regifted. Now if that plan has failed you start texting and calling relatives and friends and asking them what they got for this person and if they know what they would like. After spending all of that time trying to figure out what to buy you have to rush to the store and actually buy it which seems like is going to take forever. However, that's just because you're having trouble actually finding the item you need to buy. Once you do actually purchase the gift you have to wrap and act like you knew you were getting this the whole time and you didn't just freak out in the middle of the store because you were frustrated.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
