"I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York"

As I type those lyrics to the famous Frank Sinatra song, "New York, New York," I cannot help but smile as I think about when I spent New Year's Eve in Times Square. It was the most incredible experience of my entire life to watch the ball drop as I counted down to 2016. I had watched the ball drop on T.V. many times but before I experienced the moment in real life I could have never fathomed the feeling of pure joy and excitement I had while standing in the middle of Times Square, surrounded by so many people who were elated to experience the grand moment that only New York City could provide. There are so many reasons, the moment was incredible and I would like to tell you about a few, in hopes that you will one day plan that amazing trip to New York City to experience the moment you will remember for the rest of your life.

First and foremost, being in the middle of Times Square on New Year's Eve is special because you are in the middle of a street that is unlike anywhere else. The buildings are so grand and the lights twinkle and shine. Everywhere you look, you discover something new. Whether it is a billboard for a musical or clothing store, you will be mesmerized. It is a surreal moment when you look around and realize that you are in one of the most loved cities and that you get to countdown to the New Year with many other people who are feeling the same excitement.

The people you encounter in Times Square on New Year's Eve are people that you will want to get to know. People come from all around the world to experience that moment the ball drops. You will hear amazing accents and learn about different walks of life. Everyone has a story and I suggest that you speak with those around you. You are going to stand in Times Square for many hours, but the time will go by so fast because of the conversations you have with the interesting people you meet.

Not only is Times Square a great place to meet new people but it is a probably the largest party you will ever go to. A party is what people want on New Year's Eve and Times Square does not disappoint. The great thing about being in Times Square on New Year's Eve is that you will get to see amazing performances by talented singers. You'll dance the night away while enjoying great music. I still find myself remembering my Times Square experience when I hear the songs that I danced to in the middle of the street. It was definitely an entertaining time filled with laughter, music, dancing and smiles.

Your excitement will continue to grow as the clock gets closer to midnight. You will anticipate the countdown and watch the spectacular ball drop but at the same time, you will not want the moment to end. As it gets closer to midnight, you will receive amazing top hats that feature the year you are counting down to. These are hats that you will keep forever. It is a souvenir that not many others will say they have gotten while in New York. This is not the everyday "I Love New York" t-shirt that so many tourists buy. No, this is the hat that will take you back to the time you spent in Times Square on New Year's Eve. It will remind you of the memories and friends you made. It will remind you of the ten seconds you counted down while the magnificent ball dropped. It will remind you of singing "New York, New York" once the clock struck midnight on January first.

I will never forget counting down to 2016 in Times Square. I felt like I was in a dream and it is a moment I would love to experience again. One of these days, I hope to see you in Times Square on New Year's Eve. Trust me, you will not regret it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
