A Letter To Me

What I wish I would remember on a daily basis.

A Letter To Me

I wish I could tell you every little secret in the world, I wish I could cover all of your hurt with magical bandaids that could somehow fix everything, but most importantly I wish I could tell you that you are perfect and there is not need to worry.

No one is perfect. There is not a single person in this world that is 100 percent perfect through and through. Some people look perfect on social media, but don't let that fool you. Please don't let that fool you. We have so many apps today that can let you edit your skin tone, change colors, do basically anything you want. Being jealous or hurt by it only affects you. You have no idea what goes on behind closed doors or what those people are actually dealing with.

It is OK to compare yourself. It is an automatic trait that every single person does whether they mean to or not. What really matters is what you do with it. Do not hate your own size. Every single person has a slightly different body type. Some people are more athletic, more petite, curvier, bigger, taller, and the list keeps going on. Do not hate your "likes" on social media. It is the dumbest thing you could ever do. It does not define you as a person or how much you matter to anybody. You are your own person. You are unique, and please do not let anyone tell you differently or let any words be taken to heart.

It is OK to mess up. You are a human being with flaws and will mess up over and over again. Do not beat yourself down each time. Learn from it. Your mistakes do not define you as a person. What you take from those mistakes does show what kind of a person you are, though. Your friends will love you no matter what. They will always be by your side and help guide you a long the way. Your parents will love you no matter what. Even when you tell yourself this is the final time, they have to hate you by now. I pinky promise you that they don't. They never ever could. They will always be there to hold your hand even and help pick you back up.

You will go through life jumping over, crashing into, and falling on top of so many obstacles. You will feel incredibly overwhelmed at times to a point where you will feel like you can't breathe or move. Keep pushing on. This sounds cheesy, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Even when you feel ragged and like everything has been squeezed out of you by a powerful juicer, keep moving on. Don't let it permanently affect you. You are so much more than those obstacles, whether they are crashing a car or being a dumb teenager or simply breaking a plate.

Any thing can mean anything to anyone. If something really bothers someone, ask them about it. Don't call it stupid and walk away like some people could do. Help others, be the smile that makes someones day brighter. Love everyone and forgive everyone. Be kind. Do to others what you would want done to you. Someone else could be mean and hateful and cruel al they want but never stoop to their level. Rise above.

I know you might not take this to heart, or you will and you could forget in a day or a week or a year. But that's OK, try to remember and try to treat yourself well. There is no one else like you. I love you infinitely.

From,

Me

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
