When you're lucky enough to have a soul sister like mine, you can't really remember what it was like before you met them. You don't remember when you two weren't side by side, making each other laugh and thinking of ridiculous new things to do. You know your soul sister is going to be by your side for the rest of your life, and here are four reasons you wouldn't have it any other way.

1. People can't tell you apart – and it's because you're a package deal

For the first full year of our friendship, people constantly mixed us up. We can probably take some of the blame considering we are together basically whenever we can be. Being far away from you (a whole three hours) is one of my least favorite parts of college, but that just means weekly calls, daily texts, and even more fun and adventure when we are together

2. You can "read each other's minds"

So even though we spend a good amount of our time tricking our friends into thinking we can actually read each others mind, I think we can to a certain point. Even though we aren't actually telepathic, one of the reasons I love being your soul sister is because we think the same thoughts, work with the same work ethic and go about life the same way. Sure, it only takes one look at each other to know what the other is thinking, but it's more than that. I love having a friend who is just as motivated, hard-working, fun, and happy as I am. I love that I have a friend like you, who, just like me, actively seeks out the good in each day and the meaning in each challenge we encounter. And if we weren't basically the same person, who would I share my love for dark-chocolate Bordeaux from See's with?

3. You can be doing absolutely nothing and you will find a way to make it fun

Let's face it – we can't have a bad time with each other. No matter what we do, we can make it fun. Whether it's cleaning out one of our parents' refrigerators at 3 a.m. because we can't sleep, figuring out how to survive nine-hour dance practices and dress rehearsals, or entertaining our friends on car rides, we will make it a good time that we'll talk about for years to come. Our inside jokes still make us laugh like we made them up yesterday, and I will never get tired of the confused looks on our friends' faces when we burst into hysterics over one ridiculous thing after the other.

4. You are 100 percent there for each other, no matter what

Whenever anything bad happens, you're the first person I want to talk to. When something good happens, you're the first person I want to tell. We have been there for each other through the good and bad for years, and that's not changing anytime soon. Having you by my side to hug me when I'm down, cheer for me when I reach my goals, and laugh with me when there is nothing else to do is one of the reasons I'm so lucky to have you as my soul sister.

Thank you for being my person, the Cristina to my Meredith, and the Serena to my Blair. Thanks for introducing me to "Gossip Girl," blindly trusting me when I say "come on it'll be fun!" and reminding me to live based on what is important to me. You inspire me every day with your passion for life, excitement when you find new hobbies, and infinitely happy attitude. I wouldn't trade our friendship for the world, and I know you wouldn't either. I love you, soul sister!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
