Dear Big,
Quotes, may say, “In the midst of my little mess I forget how big I’m blessed,” and that is true. I’m blessed to have you in my life, and you deserve recognition for all you do for me. Life gets busier each and every day, and it may seem like I'm unappreciative, but that’s not the case. So I wanted to take this time to say two little words.
Thank you,
For being my best friend and support system. You’ve taught me not only the ins and outs of this sisterhood, but you’ve taught me how to be a friend and an even better person. Under your influence, I have become an even more well-rounded woman, and for this, I can’t thank you enough. For the dress code advice which will help me for job interviews, all the way to dating advice, which will help me when my big day finally comes.
For the little moments. The laughs we share may not last forever, but the memories will never fade. Thank you for thinking I'm funny when no one else laughs. Thank you for the random dance parties, and the nights where we sit and do nothing, but seem to have the best time. Thank you for the nights where I can’t help myself, and for always being there to pick me up from the floor. Wiping tears from my face has more meaning to me than you may think. At my lowest points, you are a there to boost me, and remind me of the big goals I have set for myself.
For not treating this as a job. Almost every Greek organization does “Big Sister/Brother, Little Sister/Brother” pairings, so it's a no-brainer that you would ultimately grow from being a "little" to getting a "little." Big changes happen within the blink of an eye, so this is a thank you for making the change so quickly, and for loving me with your whole heart and then some. Not all pairs instantly click, but from the start I never doubted I was loved. You’ve made me feel welcome from our first conversation, and I will never be able to repay you for your kind words.
For setting the bar so high. As your little, I am expected to be a representation of you, and you are someone I aspire to be. You push me hard in school, but cuddle with me when I skip classes. You’re the devil and angel. From the smallest of conflicts to the biggest catastrophes, you always have an answer (even if it’s not the one I want to hear). You’re my mom away from home. You want what’s best for me and I couldn’t ask for more.
Soon it will be my turn to welcome a new little into our family. As scary as that thought is, I know that you have taught me well, and even when I'm a big, I will never forget that I was first your little. I can only hope to be half the big that you are to me.
Through high tide or low tide, I know you’ll always be by my side.
Sincerely,
Little
