Dear sisters,
"I wear my letters on my front because my sisters have my back". I couldn’t have found a truer statement.
I just need to thank you guys. I need to thank you guys for every single thing you’ve done for me, big or small. Thank you for always having my back and pushing me to do better. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of you by my side. Thank you for believing in me and believing that I have the potential to be a leader. Thank you for helping me through the bad times and laughing with me through the good times. Thank you for helping me find the person that I want and was meant to be. Thank you for letting me become a member of such a fantastic group of women.
It’s such a wonderful feeling when I walk across campus or in the student union, 90% of the time one of my sisters will be there and call me over. It’s awesome to know that I have so many sisters all with different majors who can help me with my classes when I’m struggling. My sisters remind me that there are truly are good people in the world. They remind me how important honesty, kindness, compassion and love is. They show me that goodness does exist and no matter what there are and always will be people who love each other through thick and thin.
Being part of a sisterhood is sacred; it’s not something to take for granted. It’s something you should cherish and hold dear to your heart because not everyone is lucky enough to have so many special people in their life like sorority sisters do. It’s counting on others and others counting on you. It is real. It is eternal. I know that I am truly blessed to have my sisters standing by my side because then no one stands a chance against us.
So again, thank you to all my girls who make my life a little bit better every single day. You guys mean EVERYTHING to me and I love each and every one of you! Always remember that you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
“People ask why I am in a sorority and I try to explain all the things a sorority is that they cannot see. A sorority is more than letters on a sweatshirt, I say. More than traditional songs, a gold pin, rituals, an obligation or a way of life. A sorority is learning about people, a sorority is giving without expecting a return. A sorority is earning respect from others, as well as for yourself. A sorority will not solve all your problems, but I have made good friends and found confidence there to help me take life one step at a time” –Unknown
