Every sorority girls favorite time of year is right around the corner, Sorority Recruitment! This is our favorite to of year because we get the chance to meet all of our potential new sisters and warmly welcome them into our sisterhood. I know some of you PNM's (Potential New Members) out there, are confused and nervous about a lot of things going through Formal Sorority Recruitment. I sure was when I went through recruitment, so I know exactly how you feel. One of the main things I was anxious about when going through recruitment was what outfits to wear. Hopefully to help you out a little if you were pretty lost like I was, here are a few outfit ideas for each set of recruitment.

Please keep in mind to keep it classy. I'm telling you, houses really don't want to see your breast hanging out of your shirt or your booty hanging out of shorts. Remember here, you're dressing for girls, not for boys. Also, try to dress like yourself, don't dress up like someone you're not and trying to be. The house that you're meant to be in will love you for who you are, so make sure you dress true to yourself and sense of style. Maybe even wear something that symbolizes you, for example, if you like giraffes you could wear a bracelet with a giraffe on it and it could be a great conversation starter. Even try bright colors or a cool, different pattern to make the sororities remember you like as the girl with the with the beautiful bright yellow sundress. These outfits might not be something you'd ever wear, but here are some ideas that I've concocted from watching girls last year go through recruitment.

Set 1 outfits.

Set 1 should we comfortable and casual because you will be doing a lot of walking and it will be super hot out, so you're going to want to keep cool and comfortable. I would suggest, flowy shorts, a loose blouse, flat sandals and minimal accessories. Maybe a cute, simple necklace or a few Alex and Ani bracelets. Make sure nothing too tight, or else you will probably be sweating your butt off in this scorching weather.

Cute, but comfortable.

Trendy kangaroo necklace- great conversation starter.

Set 2 outfits.

Set 2 is like set 1, just a little bit more dressier. This day is a good day to wear a flowy skirt or shorts or maybe even a casual romper. Still wear flats and don't get too dressy!

Bright reds and a fun play on colors.

A statement piece is always a great way to dress up a casual outfit.

Set 3 outfits.

Set 3 gets a lot dressier. This set, its great to wear a sundress or a romper. You can wear wedges or still wear flats, just make sure they aren't too uncomfortable because you will be doing a lot of walking this set.

An adorable watch and a flowy dress is always great.

A beautiful pastel, mint green color is perfect and classy.

Set 4 outfits.

Set 4 is the last and final set which obviously means its the dressiest! This set, you can wear heels and a cocktail dress. Saying "cocktail dress", don't take that as to dress like you're going to a club or a fraternity house. I wouldn't suggest a body con dress or anything too tight. Also, make sure your heels are practical and not too high.

Heels not too tall- dress is flowy and not tight.

A unique pattern like this could make you more memorable to the houses.

Now go out there, be yourself, have fun and go greek!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
