#SororityGirlProblems as Defined by Taylor Swift

I’ll say it; I’ve never been a huge fan of Taylor Swift. Before I start getting death threats from her cult of fans, let me state that I DO like her music. I whole-heartedly believe her first album was the sole reason I survived my high school breakup. There is nothing quite like belting out "You're just another picture to burn!" about a guy I now hate.

The country star turned pop princess’ new sound has caused her newest album, 1989, to have record-breaking sales. If you haven’t listened to the album yet, I suggest you do. And if you haven’t seen her "Blank Space" music video yet, I suggest you do that as well. His name is Sean O’Pry; you are welcome.

According to sources, Tay’s newest album is the story of her life (big surprise), from becoming famous to dating every boy in Hollywood she shouldn’t have to surviving the struggles of life and moving on. Well, I doubt I will become famous, let alone date every boy in Hollywood, but I -- just like every other sorority girl I know -- have some very real struggles each and every day as well. Clearly Taylor wrote this album for all the basic sorority girls out there with their #sororitygirlproblems.

Welcome to New York: “Welcome to the O. No one cares you’re here. Welcome to the O. Welcome to the O.” Need I say more?

Blank Space: If you thought in the past few years of college you have learned to navigate the dating (hook-up) culture, Taylor is here to tell you that you haven’t and you look like a complete psycho when you go all Amanda Bynes on your “boyfriend” after seeing him make out with another girl at the bar. One small step for T-Swift’s career, 5,783 steps backward for all sorority women. Thanks, a lot.

Style: Clearly there was a 1960s themed date party and you decided that James Dean was a good idea for your boyfriend to dress up as. Then you remember that James Dean was your stereotypical bad boy and was always up to something. Just like every single one of Taylor’s relationships; your breakup will be on very public display at this social function. I can’t wait to see the snapchats of this in the morning.

Out of the Woods: If you don’t get sent to standards at least once during your college career, you didn’t do college right. The first trip to standards is terrifying and you have no idea what to expect. Put on a brave face, say your apologies and realize you are in the clear…. That is, until next time.

All You Had To Do Was Stay: Remember the girl that made you fall in love with your sorority during recruitment only to leave you three months later for the real world? I’m still a little bitter she left without even giving me the “we need to talk” conversation.

Shake It Off: By the time senior year rolls around, you’ve made a lot of friends in Greek life, but not without an enemy or two. Tay’s here to say that it’s about not caring what they think and just doing you. Haters gon’ hate.

Bad Blood: You know those pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes you just had to have? Well after last Thursday night downtown, they have been thrown to the back of your closet to never be worn again. Who knew such a cute pair of shoes could cause so much pain? Hey, at least they looked cute in pictures though.

Wildest Dreams: It starts with a shot at the bar and a few weeks later, you are wrapped up in the idea of him and you. You ignore the bad qualities and focus on the good, despite your friends warning. It isn’t until he leaves halfway through your formal without telling you that you realize none of this will ever come true, not even in your wildest dreams.

How You Get the Girl: I can’t decide which side of recruitment I love being on more. Yes, I just said love and recruitment in the same sentence. It may be because this is the only time of the year it’s okay for me to go around professing my love for PNMs to my sisters and claiming dibs on a future g-g-little… Until she doesn’t come back the next day. RIP Rush Crush.

This Love: You love to hate your risk management chair. I know, I know, she keeps our chapter out of trouble, but when the tables turn and you’re the one in the hot seat, no longer such a fan. What can I say? “This love is good. This love is bad.”

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
