Middle school was brutal, embarrassing, but very memorable. There were many things that got me through the bad times, and most of those things included the songs found on my iPod. The following are some of my favorite songs from my middle school years. n

1. "Sugar, We're Goin Down" by Fall Out Boy

OK, so maybe you had no idea what words Patrick Stump was singing when you listening to this song the first few times, but that doesn't mean it wasn't your favorite song to jam out to with your friends.

2. "Check Yes Juliet" by We the Kings

You are probably lying if you said this song didn't make you want to have a boy come throw rocks at your window. This song was a great song to sing in your morning carpool on the way to school.

3. "Dirty Little Secret" by All-American Rejects

The music video for this song is legendary, and it probably is in every early 2000s teen dramedy. No matter how many times it's played, it's still so much fun to sing along to.

4. "Misery Business" by Paramore

This song is a classic and was always a must on any mixed CD. This song brought out the rebel in most of us, and you still might even scream the lyrics when it comes on the radio today.

5. "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic! At the Disco

Sure, you have no idea what these lyrics meant, but you sang them anyway. This classic was on an album with so many other songs that you had to really study so you knew all the track names.

6. "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers

This song is another one you might not have understood growing up, but it was one of the best songs to sing (not around your parents).

7. "Dear Maria, Count Me In" by All Time Low

This song was one of the best of our middle school years, and if you were lucky enough, you probably saw them in concert.

8. "Hero/Heroine" by Boys Like Girls

Along with "Thunder"and "The Great Escape," this song was one of your top picks for choosing songs to listen to while in the car.

9. "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard

You couldn't wait to turn 16 so this song could resonate even more meaning with you.

10. "Just the Girl" by The Click Five

Finally, "Just the Girl" is another song that was in almost every dramedy we could get our hands on as middle school students. This song was one of my personal favorites, and it may or not have been the song playing in the background of my shop on Neopets.

These songs bring out the inner preteen in me, and will always be my favorite songs from back in middle school.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
