Summer is just around the corner. Everyone knows that we are so beyond checked out of school. All we want to do is sit in the sun on the beach with friends and good music. There are certain songs that just get everyone excited for summer. These songs just set the mood for an entertaining summer. Whether it is country music or pop these songs just get you excited for summer.
"Chicken Fried" – Zac Brown Band
There is something about screaming this song at the top of your lungs as you drive down with the windows down. There is no way that this song doesn’t make you smile and think of summer. It is just so upbeat and reminds me of the Fourth of July.
"Want to Want Me" – Jason Derulo
There is no denying it that this was the song for Summer 2015. No matter where you were or what you were doing, this song always came on. Whether the song was remixed or the original, we all got a little to excited to sing this when it came on the radio.
"Follow Me" – Uncle Kracker
I cannot not put this song in this list. This classic song just gets everyone singing at the top of your lungs. It is laid back but also very upbeat and just puts everyone in a good mood.
"We Can’t Stop" – Miley Cyrus
This song came out in 2013 just before the summer started, and we were surprised because Miley was no longer the sweet and innocent Miley who we knew. However, we were all dancing and singing to this song when it came out.
"Only The Good Die Young" – Billy Joel
I don’t know why, but this song makes me so excited for summer. It is just upbeat and I personally can’t help but sing this song at the top of my lungs. (Thanks to all the people in my freshman building who blasted this out the windows of their dorm rooms.)
" Cruise" – Florida Georgia Line (both feat Nelly and not)
Either version of this song is just a feel good song that is perfect to drive to with all the windows down. Who doesn’t just feel like it should be summer when listening to this song?
These are just a few of the songs that remind me of summer. We are all so close to being done. Let these songs and others motivate you to push past the last few weeks of school.
