6 Songs I've been Recently Obsessed With

This summer has been filled with days of endless work, hanging out with friends and listening to music, including music of different genres. At this point, musicians that have taken up pretty much all fo my spare time during these hot summer days. From Kacey Musgraves to Drake, this summer has been filled with great music to listen to when times are hard or getting lit (I'm so sorry for saying that) with friends.

1. "Butterflies" by Kacey Musgraves

This song has me in all my feels recently. While I was at the Harry Styles concert several weeks ago, I heard this beautiful song. Kacey Musgraves, a country singer with a beautiful voice, actually took my breath away while performing this song as part of the opening act. I couldn't wait to go home and listen to it. Everyone, please listen to this song and I believe you'll feel the same way.

2. "Thru These Tears" by LANY

LANY, an alternative band, has just released a new single for their unreleased album "Malibu Nights." With an upbeat feeling and Paul Klein's (the lead singer of the band) vocals all up with heartfelt lyrics, this song has taken me by storm. "Thru These Tears" is the new summer song I'll be obsessing over til the release of their next album.

3. "Rugged Lovers" by Rayland Baxter

Rayland Baxter is a new artist I've recently discovered several days ago and, let me say, this man is extraordinary. Rayland Baxter's music is a mix of R&B and indie that's quite beautiful to listen to. The other day, I stumbled upon "Rugged Lovers" while laying on my bed before getting ready for work and, in all honesty, I shed a tear. "Rugged Lovers" is a beautiful love song that I would recommend to all audiences.

"4. Gonna Love Me" by Teyana Taylor

Until a couple of weeks ago, I only knew of Teyana Taylor from the Kanye West video, "Fade." Several weeks ago, however, Teyana Taylor released her new album "K.T.S.E." Produced by Kanye West, the album embodied the R&B sound that I've been dying to hear in recently released. "Gonna Love Me" has me dancing in my room alone and not just to this song, but the rest of the album, which is packed full of hits.

5. "Kiwi" by Harry Styles

This song is from the man of my wildest dreams, the infamous Harry Styles. I liked "Kiwi" when the debut album was released over a year ago, but after hearing this song live a couple weeks ago, I'm absolutely in love with it. Maybe it was hearing Harry Styles performing this song live and watching the crowd roar as this song played, but it's such a tune.

6. "Evergreen" by YEBBA

Wow, this song is just a WOW. If you haven't heard of YEBBA just yet, please do, because you're missing out. YEBBA's voice is filled with such soul and eloquence, it'll make you wonder how any human could be blessed with such a voice. "Evergreen" is a beautiful song that fills the room with YEBBA's superfluous voice, making you wish that you had an ounce of her musical talent.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
