While I'm no expert on music or anything related, I am an avid Spotify user, and I can never resist listening to a good song. I firmly believe that there are songs applicable to any phase or life event, and having something beautiful that correlates with your emotions can be extremely soothing. Facing heartbreak? Through that Kelly Clarkson song on and sing your heart out. Need some tunes for your next study session? You can find a variety of appropriate study playlists. There are those songs that just make you happy as you listen to them. These are my 20 of my favorites that cheer me up regardless of my mood or my day (in no particular order).

1. "Bibia Be Ye Ye" by Ed Sheeran

If you don't love Ed Sheeran, you're crazy. All jokes aside, my boy Eddie is a skillful songwriter, and this song is just so fun to sing. Another great one on the same album is "Barcelona".

2. "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers

Bill Withers has a soothing voice, and how could you not love a song called "Lovely Day"?

3. "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz

This song was really popular when I was a bit younger, but it's still such a jam. It feels like summer in a song.

4. "Lemonade" by Adam Friedman, ft. Mike Posner

This song feels like summer. A few weeks ago, I visited my friends at the beach, and we played this song in the car. One of those songs that would be perfect on a summer roadtrip playlist, or a beach day.

5. "Getting Ready to Get Down" by Josh Ritter

This is just a fun and folksy.

6. "Heart's Content" by Brandi Carlile

7. "Be OK" by Ingrid Michaelson

8. "The Sound of Sunshine" by Michael Franti & Spearhead.

This is literally called the "Sound of Sunshine." How can you not love it?

9. "New Shoes" by Paolo Nutini

10. "Clap Your Hands" by Whilk & Misky

11. "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker

This song is rumored to be about a heroin addiction, although it sounds more like the story of an affair. While both are kind of bad topics, Follow Me is a catchy song that is so fun to sing with friends in the car.

12. "Smile" by Uncle Kracker

13. "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffet

Would it really be a playlist made by Libby if Jimmy didn't make it at least once?

14. "How I Want Ya" by Hudson Thames and Hailee Steinfield

15. "Loving You is Easy" by Ben Rector

This is one of those songs that is beautiful and catchy, a even a little bit of a throwback.

16. "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson.

Jack Johnson has a soothing voice and is one of my favorite artists. Also check out "Banana Pancakes".

18. "Keep Your Head Up" by Andy Grammer

Andy Grammer is one of my favorite artists. His concert was the first I ever went to, and Augustana opened for him. The concert occurred in 2014 at my local community college and tickets cost only $7.

19. "Hey Mama" by Matt Kearney

20. "For the Love" by Hearts & Colors

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
