Happy - Upside Down by Jack Johnson

I don't know if it's the upbeat music or the fact that Curious George is in the music video, this song always puts a huge smile on my face.

Sad - Make You Feel My Love by Adele

Sometimes you just have those days where all you need to listen to are sad songs. Well, Adele is perfect for those days. This will always be one of my favorite songs of hers because...well she has an amazing voice.

Rejected - Ironic by Alanis Morrie

So I don't know how I got into this song, but I've been completely obsessed with it this semester. This is the kind of song where if you need a break from life, stand up and belt this song. It helps a lot when you put it on repeat :)

Bored- Sleeping On The Floor by The Lumineers

So it was hard for me to just pick just one Lumineer song because I love them all (literally all of them). For me, this is a type of band that I can just listen to. I don't skip any songs, just let it play. I also recommend watching their music videos...they're amazing!

Studious- Free Fallin' by John Mayer

John Mayer is another artist that I can just listen to. All of his songs are amazing, and they keep getting better (I suggest listening to his newer songs). I love listening to the live version of Free Fallin' when I do my homework because it is so calming.

Bittersweet- Rivers and Roads by The Head and The Heart

I started listening to The Head and The Heart when I was a senior in high school. I fell in love with their music instantly. This song specifically, because of the lyrics. At the end of the year, as we were getting ready to graduate, it is a tradition that all the seniors go to senior banquet, which is a dinner and they hand out senior superlatives. That night, one kid from our class got up and sang this song to everyone. I instantly fell in love with this song, but it was the perfect thing to sing before everyone moves on with their lives.

Content- Kind & Generous by Natalie Merchant

Although this song is a little bit older, I remember someone telling me about Natalie Merchant and how good of a singer she was. I wasn't familiar with any of her songs so I decided to look her up. My first song I listened to was Kind and Generous and I have loved this song ever since. It is such a relaxing song to listen to because it's such a simple song but I especially loved her voice in this song.

Lonely- Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

I think every girl has sung this song in her room by herself. The classic piano in the background makes this song for me.

Heartbroken- I Try by Macy Gray

Let's be real, this song is perfect for any mood. Just turn the song up loud, and belt out the lyrics!

Stressed- Autumn Tree by Milo Greene

I listen to music a lot when I am stressed, and this song is always my go-to. It starts out really slow, picks up in the middle, and then slows back down at the end. I great stress reliever.

Mad- Sweet as whole by Sara Bareilles

You may be surprised when you first listen to this song...just wait, you'll understand where I'm coming from.

Adventurous- Send me on my way by Rusted Root

Definately my go-to for any road trip with friends. Just roll down the windows, turn up the music, and sing along!

Fun- Perfect Strangers by Jonas Blue JP Cooper

I first heard this song inside a club in Copenhagen and fell in love with it instantly. It's the perfect song for any dance party with friends.

Reminiscent- Piano Man by Billy Joel

Will always be a favorite classic of mine. My favorite memory of mine is when my friends and I stood around a circle with our hands around each other while we swayed back and forth singing this song. Sounds cheesy, but it was one of my favorite memories together.

Pump up- No problem by Chance the Rapper

Whether you're at the gym or pre-gaming for a night out, this song is perfect for those moments you need to get pumped up. I also recommend listening to Chance's full album...because it's realllly good.

Loving- Whatever It Is by Zac Brown Band

If you know me, you'll already know that I love ZBB and have a hard time picking a favorite song, well, because they're all amazing. But if you are spending time with your SO, then this is the song for the two of you.

Music has been a huge part of my life. It has been there for the bad times but has also highlighted some of the best memories. I love listening to a song, and then thinking of that specific time whenever I hear the song play after. I have a wide range of genres that I love listening to, and I believe it has helped me because sometimes I'm in the mood to listen to one over the other.

I hope you enjoyed reading through my list of songs. When do you listen to certain songs?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
