Something Else This Election Is Telling Us

The press has been calling this election is crazy and one for the books -- and, boy, are they right! The last several months have been nothing short of a crap show. Name calling, lying, vulgar remarks, barking like a dog, false accusations, making childish faces at others, and I don’t even know what else. The main point here is that all these people are running for the most prestigious office in the world and they are not acting like it. There is nothing presidential about barking like a dog, or a calling someone in your own party a lightweight. With all that said, people are still continuing to vote for these individuals. No matter how degrading Donald Trump is to women, or how much nonsense Bernie Sanders rambles about, people are still voting for them in record turnouts!

Donald Trump has been degrading and just plain rude to women from debate number one. Yet, he still is winning. Bernie Sanders is a self-proclaimed democratic-socialist and he somehow has gotten an outrageous number of people to vote for him. Hillary has a list of issues and may soon be indicted while the number of people who don’t trust her is astounding. So, why are people voting for them? Bottom line: we are a bunch of dumb butts who clearly need to be better educated with the addition of using common sense and a moral compass!

Let’s take a minute to learn about socialism. The definition provided by Merriam-Webster is: “a system of society or group living in which there is no private property; a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state.” So Bernie is all about no privacy. Combine that with spreading the wealth and realize that means when you make $100 you only get $50 of that, and when you have to shower there will only be half of a curtain. If you are a guy, you might think that’s okay because you are thinking you’ll get to have the bottom half, but no no, the government will get to decide whether you get the top or bottom half of the curtain.

Oh, Bernie, that's so deep.

There is a large different between being greedy and taking the whole curtain and the full amount that you worked hard to earn. And I don’t expect for other people to pay for my school and other aspects of my life because that it ridiculous, and not how this works.

Why do people think this is a good idea? I am proud to say that I did not and will not jump on the Trump bandwagon because he is just a scary individual. He’s mean and crazy. And, yes, I also believe he reminds me of a certain dictator.

Just because you run as a Republican does not mean you are truly a Republican or even understand what a Republican is. I am floored by the amount of people who actually believe this joke and believe him and think he is actually going to do what he says. Yes, what he says about having good people around him is true. I think Melania is actually a nice person, and I do like Ivanka and her fabulous fashion. But, he has admitted to never thinking he is wrong, and that the only person that advises him is himself. Can someone read that and explain properly to me why you are drawn to support that type of individual? Let's use our noggins.

Hillary will never change. I can see her now being at a World Summit, barking like a dog, humiliating America even more as if that was even possible. She's the gem no one likes, no one trusts, and people only vote for her simply because all other options are just straight ridiculous. As a woman, I won't vote for her -- gender will never outweigh policy, ideas, and dishonesty. She might have the country's best interest in mind, unlike Donald or even Bernie, but she can never be trusted as the one who makes the hard calls.

I am just embarrassed as an American, right now.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
