#SoCollege Or #SoStressed ?

Nothing is impossible, even time management with a crazy college schedule

Time management and college are two things that can seem impossible to accomplish together. There is so much to balance, being social, finishing your homework, sleeping, eating, going to work, being involved on campus... the list goes on and on. Even though it seems impossible, it is do-able. The key is being organized, and getting your sh*t together (yes, sadly that means no procrastinating).

So, let's talk about prioritizing!

OK, i know you don't want to hear this but..... STUDY! This isn't backyard baseball anymore, you're in the big leagues people. You're retaining so much more information, and in most cases it's actually stuff you're going to have to know and apply for your future careers--- not just random things to regurgitate onto a test. Take the time to figure out some study methods that work for you, whether it be going to the library, or blasting music, figure out what works and stick with it!

As much as going to the bars on a Monday night is tempting, sometimes you just gotta say no (Sorry, Murphy's Law Monday's). There will be plenty of weekends to go out, and trust me, you won't be missing that hangover for your 8 am class the next morning. There's a time and a place for everything. As much as we college kids like to think we're invincible, we need our sleep too, especially on school nights. Plus, there's nothing wrong with staying in and binge watching HGTV and going to bed at 9 like a 45-year-old woman.

Ahhh yes, food. Being a college student means a jam packed schedule and running back and forth between classes, clubs, and activities all day long--- so naturally, we forget some things! But do not forget the essentials, FOOD AND WATER! Our bodies can't be expected to do all these things if we're running on E! It's important to stay hydrated and eat throughout the day so that you don't crash. Stay healthy people!

Getting involved on campus is great, and I do highly recommend it, but don't spread yourself too thin! Because when you have three papers due, and online assignment, readings AND club meetings/activities to attend, you're gonna be asking yourself WHYYYYYYY. Too much of anything isn't good. So, before you end up like Kevin Hart here, think about what you really wanna do and what you can do before signing up for just about everything.

These are just a few of the many tips out there for balancing your hectic college life! I'm right there with you as I'm balancing getting my homework done, meeting deadlines, volunteering, going out with friends and all the other things that come up in my life. It's part of being young, and part of preparing yourself for the real world. Don't stress, friends! Life's too short. Enjoy yourself, and stay on track! It'll all be worth it in the end– focus on the big picture.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
