Social media is such a large part of my life. I hate to admit that, but its true. I spend probably too much of my day on social media, but for me its a good distraction from the real world, as long as I remember to go back to the real world. This list is contains only the social media i frequent.
6. Twitter
Twitter is a weird one for me. It fits so much with my life and yet I rarely ever use it. Its stuck in a folder with the Facebook-ing messaging app, if that shows my level of use. I following some really hilarious people and I always have a good chuckle when I go on it, but it never makes it into my daily rotation.
5. Pinterest
The wonderful world of Pinterest. A great place to get lost when you need inspiration. Whether it be for crafts, clothes, cooking, or the future, Pinterest has it all. I love Pinterest and its only this early because I don’t frequent it that often.
4. Instagram
Instagram use to be much higher on this list, but with a sister who is pro at Instagraming, I knew I should leave it behind. I wanted to be good at it, but I knew I never would be. I post occasionally when I love a photo, or doing something worth gramming. Other than that it’s just used to see what people are doing, see quick makeup videos, and to show my college friends the people I went to high school with.
3. Snapchat
I’m not the greatest Snapchatter, but I do love a good ugly photo. And I know people who can do wonders with emojis. Snapchat brings new life to communication through facial expressions, the one thing regular messaging lacks. It also helps that the photos have the potential to last only a few seconds. Snapchat can get real interesting, it keeps things from ever getting too boring.
2. Facebook
I’m sad to put this one so close to the top, but it had to be done. Facebook allows me to know whats going on in the world through articles shared by “friends.” Of course it always includes their opinion which I could go with out. None the less Facebook pulls me in daily, with the draw of BuzzFeed videos, and other long streams of short but related videos. the day they introduced that was the beginning of my addiction
1. Tumblr
Tumblr is my perfect escape. It has everything I want in a social media. Funny videos, funny photos, memes, heartfelt posts, thought-provoking posts, and some just plan ol' weird stuff. I bond with people over tumblr, and things I’ve shared with them from tumblr. Tumblr might get trashed by everyone (including die hard fans) but it will always be number one in my social media heart.
So go out there and continue to follow your social media dreams. Or at least your favorite people.
