So the spread of COVID-19 has restricted us to our homes for our safety. A lot of us are now going to school online and are out of work for the time being as many retail, food service, and entertainment venues are now closing for precaution. The CDC is informing us that we should expect to be inside for the next eight weeks. Cabin fever is so real and we're trying to

1) Journal Everyday

This self-isolation can drive people crazy. It's affecting our everyday lives and it can tear at us physically, mentally, and emotionally. Jotting down your thoughts on paper is a great way to vent out your feelings.

2) Learn A New Language

Check off one of your new year's resolutions and learn a new language like Spanish, French, Italian, or Japanese. Expand your resumé or skills and self-teach online. Babbel is a great way to learn because you start at beginner and at the end of these eight weeks, you'll be an advanced linguist.

3) Catch Up On Your Shows

Listen, sports are on pause and TV and Movies are having their own lockout right now. You need got put the subscriptions to good use. You got Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and On Demand. Catch up on the shows you fell behind on or watch a new show you've been wanting to give a try. You can finish a whole series during the first week.

4) Learn How To Cook

You are about to become really domestic being cooped up in the house. Learn some new recipes on Youtube and meal prep for the week at the same time. Killing two birds with one stone so you don't starve.

5) Spend Time With Your Family

This is a blessing in disguise. When was the last time the whole family was together at the same time? I'm not gonna lie, after four days you'll get tired of each other but take the time you have now to catch up with your family.

6) Do Tik Tok Challenges

There are so many ways to pass the time and Tik Tok is a great distraction from the news cycle. Everyday is a new dance challenge popping up and you can do it with friends, family, or even solo.

7) Exercise

Don't let the quarintine snacks and free time keep you from getting your summer body. The gym may be closed but you can workout at home. Use home equipment, do workout videos online, or just go for a walk during the day. It's safe to go outside so keep yourself healthy during this time.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
