Every once in a while, a blizzard will drop a ton of snow on the ground leaving you stuck inside your house. This hardly ever happens so what do you do with your day? If you find yourself at a loss for what to do with your time, here are some things to help you narrow down what to do when you are snowed in and can't leave your house.
1. Catch up on TV shows and movies you've been putting off
We don't always have time to watch the TV shows or movies we've recorded onto the DVR so they continue to sit there until we find time to catch up. Now that you have an abundance of time being snowed in and all, you can now watch those shows that you've put off.
2. Bake
Baking is a relatively easy practice, in theory, and can fill up a good chunk of time (depending on what you bake). Not only will our house smell delicious when its cooking but you can also ration out the baked goods throughout the week so you have a nice dessert to look forward to after lunch or dinner.
3. Take a nap
Throughout the busy work week, we don't always get the amount of sleep we need to be able to function at full capacity. To ensure you aren't nodding off tomorrow, take this time to catch up on some much needed sleep. Getting those extra zzz's can mean all the difference tomorrow, and maybe a cup or two less of coffee.
4. Do those chores you've been avoiding
Everyone hates chores but they cannot be avoided forever. Doing them on a day where you physically can't leave your house provides you with the chance to face your chores head on, get them done, so you can spend the rest of the day doing what you enjoy. Plus, you don't have to do them over the weekend which will give you more time to do the fun stuff.
5. Read a book
If you are a busy bee, finding time to sit down a read a book can be difficult but on a day you're snowed in is the perfect opportunity to catch up on some much needed reading time. Grab a book, find a comfy spot, and hunker down for some much needed one-on-book time.
