All you avid Snapchatters, listen up! There is now an easier and trendier way to record your snaps. Snapchat, an ever-growing industry has now come out with a new product in high demand. Circular shaped spectacles that come in black, teal, or coral can now record Snapchats and sync them to your snap chat account as long as they are within wifi range. All it takes is the click of a button for a 10-second video and continuous clicking to add time to the video. They come with a case that holds 4 charges, a USB cable, and a ghost-shaped cleaning cloth for the hefty price of $129.99
I'm sure Apple is mad they could not come up with the idea first.
The downside of these snap chat glasses is that they can not be purchased in any normal store or online but from robot vending machines. The robots are known to pop up in populous cities around the United States. You never know when one may come up near you. These machines are so elusive that they cause a frenzy of kids and adults that line up and wait hours to get their hands on a pair. If they do not get them the moment they see the snap bot, it may disappear from the location for good. So far they have materialized and vanished in New York, Los Angeles, Florida, Arizona and...Oklahoma? The point is you never know where one could turn up so keep your eyes peeled.
What do these glasses mean for our generation? Well, technology is always at our fingertips. Now it is taking over our vision as well. I could make the argument that these glasses are a positive because they leave us hands free and less distracted by handling our cellphones when once-in-a-lifetime moments happen that we can not see twice. We will easily be able to record them and save them forever. However, it may make us even more enthralled and obsessed with putting the worthy parts of our lives online for everyone to see. In today's world we want everyone who knows us to see how "cool" we are instead of just living in the moment and not worrying about our appearance on social media.
Do you think these glasses are the future? If you spotted a snap bot in your city, would you buy a pair?
