The most dreaded time of the semester is so near we can feel the tears welling up in our eyes, the anxiety quickening our heartbeat, and reminisce longingly on the hours of sleep we once took for granted. Let's face it, finals are the worst thing that's happened to us since those dreaded middle school photos that keep popping up on Facebook to remind us of the absolute worst times. But this finals season, while you're cramming well into the night for tomorrow's test, try snacking on something that won't kill that spring break body you're going to start working on soon.
1. Blueberries
Full of antioxidants and low on calories, blueberries are a quick finger food that's even better frozen.
2. Dark chocolate
Helping to lower your blood pressure one delicious bite at a time.
3. Almonds
Filled with nutrients that actually increase brain activity, almonds are literally brain food!
4. Green Tea
All of coffee's caffeine with none of the side effects, green tea ends up curbing your appetite AND being healthy for you.
5. Peanuts
Heart healthy and full of the energy needed to power through an all-nighter, peanuts are even better as peanut butter, on apples, or in a sandwich.
6. Granola
Fills you up and lowers cholesterol, granola is easy to pack on the go and tastes even better with fruit.
7. Oatmeal
The perfect breakfast: oatmeal. It has tons of B vitamins, the "happy" vitamins, because they elevate your mood.
8. Bananas
Loaded with potassium, bananas aid with cramps or the sick feeling that comes with not eating well.
9. Yogurt
Not only a good source of dairy, yogurt also keeps your skin soft.
10. Cheese
Protein packed and usually portable, cheese is good on the go, and there's a flavor for everyone!
11. Water
When in doubt, drink water because chances are, you aren't drinking enough to satisfy a body that is 60 percent H2O.
